Book condition
The media could not be loaded. I recieved it in good condition ❤️Review:I loved this book so much. It's a great fantasy read having a world brimming with captivating characters and an inventive backdrop. I liked the storytelling method of Kelly and was engrossed in the book since the initial chapters.🪄From the moment Luna was born, her fate seemed sealed as a sacrificial offering to an evil witch. But, as the story unfolds, it takes an unexpected turn. The witch, known as Xan, defies all expectations and becomes Luna's savior and brings her to family consisting of Glerk, the swamp monster, and Fyrian, the small dragon. Throughout the centuries, Xan has rescued countless babies like Luna, nurturing them with goat's milk and the enchanting essence of starlight. This mystical elixir grants these infants extraordinary strength while Xan tirelessly searches for a secure haven for them. However, when it comes to Luna, a remarkable error occurs. Unintentionally, Xan feeds her not just any light, but the radiant power of moonlight. This celestial mishap bestows upon Luna an abundance of magical abilities, setting her apart from the rest.As Luna grows, her magic is unstopable and truths begin to unfold about the place and her people and where she came from.🪄Grand Elder Gherland, the esteemed leader of the town harbored a hidden secret, finding pleasure in The Day of Sacrifice while keeping the truth concealed from the townspeople. However, his nephew Antain, an aspiring Elder, began to question the entire process as he approached his thirteenth birthday and who by 18 years of age is getting Ill since 5 years on this particular day.It also introduced a madwoman residing at the top of a tower, surrounded by her paper birds. As the story unfolded, I delved into the emotions and experiences of various individuals, including Sister Ignatia, Wyn, Ethyne, and many more and loved it.As I was reading i didn't want to put this book down for even a bit and visualising the world of a fantasy book is a surreal experience. 💕

Had a good time reading it
The narrative is exquisitely crafted, blending a flawless combination of adventure, humor, and love within a captivating plot. There is an enchanting element of magic woven throughout this whimsical and gripping fairy tale, culminating in a highly gratifying conclusion overflowing with love. The novel delves into the theme of constructing one's own family and nurturing them with unwavering affection. It explores the dichotomy between kindness and cruelty, hope and despair, magic and menace, as well as loss and tragedy, all while emphasizing the importance of creating bonds and spreading love among those we hold dearPersonally I think this shouldn't be in the middle grade category and even tho the novel is just 388 pages but it feels quite long

A really good magical heartbreaking hopeful read!
Cried so much during my flight reading this book that the woman sitting next to me was quite worried and the two air hostesses kept staring at me in case I might call for help.Who would have thought this magical fantastical middle grade read would make me cry like the world is ending and I am leaving everyone I love. I wasn’t expecting it to be this sad and full of grief. Yes grief. I hope the middle grade readers do not have to cry like me while reading the second half of the book. The story is about a child “sacrificed” supposedly to a “witch” by the community so that their community stays safe as a tradition to do so when the time comes. However, with this particular child the story begins as to what actually happens to the babies. Then begins a story of heartbreakingly sad warm story of found family, magic and madness of raising a child with magical abilities. This child doesn’t quite understand this and she grows up under the watchful eyes of a grandmotherly figure, an unclely figure and a friendly figure. The first half is written as well. The last few chapters too. However, things got a bit repetitive in between which I feel wouldn’t have changed much if not there at all.If you’re curious why I cried too much, try reading this book. It’s fast paced and quite good. Halt when you reach the last few chapters. It’s quite meaningful and make such a wholesome closure to the story.I love the writing and the characters too much! They are family now and the author is now one of my auto buy authors now!
