Works great on double hung windows
My previous double hung windows had this little slide/lock thing where I could leave the windows open about 3" to let air in, but keep the windows from opening any further. My new replacement windows do not have this feature. I have been looking for something where I could do the same thing w/o having to drill any holes and would be easy to remove in order to have the windows fully open when I wanted. I was skeptical with these but thought I'd give them a try. They work great! Velcro strip does not impede how the window opens/closes. I tried to 'force' the window to open further and the wedges stayed in place. I feel much safer having these and being able to leave the window opened a bit at night for fresh air. Granted, I know if someone really wants in, they can just break the window.

Pretty easy to install but requires a wide margins
These were pretty easy to install but make sure to check your windows that the side where the windows meet the frame are wide enough to accommodate the window wedge.

They do work
Bought for a piece of mind, a bit of security. Exactly as stated. Only works on some windows, ours are new single hung and the strip JUST fit for the wedge to be attached, not a mm to spare! But they work folks .
