Great antenna for Baofeng portables.
I purchased this product for my Baofeng portable radio to use in my truck. The reason I purchased it was because it directly attaches to the unit without an adapter. While using it in 2 meters my signal strength has dramatically increased and I am hitting repeaters easily at 10+ miles. And yes I am licensed.

Well enough for the price, I guess.
Update. Now using this antenna with a QYT KT-8900D that transmit at approx 25w and it's working well. Currently happy with it.Original review:This is my first magnetic antenna and I'm new to ham radio. Using a Baofeng Uv-5r.This is my opinion others may have other experience. After about 5 months of using this I update my review. I wrote a negative review. Now I accept I was mistaken. The antenna performs well for the price. It could be better, I guess so. But it does the work. I have picked up repeaters of several miles with a Baofeng (clone).Positive:Strong magnetWell built Opinion:I would prefer a ticker cable and a connector easier to screw on radio. Will I recommend the product?Don't know. I don't have enough experience to tell how it compares with other brands.Would I buy it again?Don't know, maybe searched for a longer one. But first will like to compare with other brands.

No way to contact seller to see if i can get this antenna with 25ft rg-8x and pl-259 connector for mobile base!
Overall i recommend buying one.Pro'sCan reach 10-20mile transmitting and come in clear from 5w baofeng radio WITH GROUND PLANE and being outside city area mostly flat.12FT cord long enough for me car to car and home use. A old stew can makes perfect magnetic base to stand on a table. also cookie sheet does a great job to.:) * just tip if ever need a set up inside*The magnetic very strong it takes some force getting off the car and about half a inch away picks up the soup can.SWR mostly flat but this is after i removed paint at connection point to base.144-148mhz around 1.6 indoors430-450mhz around 1.2 indoorsCon'sonly 435-450 instead of 420-450 full 70cm band.Right now i use a sma-m to pl259 for the so239 on back of mobile unit.100watts max with sma-Foverall better than any antenna you can find for this price!!5/8 UHF AND 1/2 VHF is perfect antenna for most setups i use for my base station i can talk 10miles simplex so far.

Good cheap antenna
Good cheap antenna. I stuck it to the side of an old computer case cover and put it up in my attic. Then stuck an adapter on the end and plugged it into a 50 foot rg8x cable that goes to my office. I have my Kenwood tm-281 plugged into it. I have had real good results. Seems to do about as good as my diamond x50 that is on the other side of the attic with just a tiny bit more fuzz. If these 2 antennas were outdoors and higher I am sure the diamond would do much better than the tram. I am in a hoa so I can not have antennas outside. Get one of these antennas and you will not regret it.I have another I have used on my truck hooked to my scanner. That works real well also.

measure coax run
if you are looking for a small dual band antenna it works fine...I have used on my HT's while I am mobile and it works much better with the antenna mounted outside of the car...the only draw back is the length of the coax...since I run mine on the roof and then run the coax from the rear hatch it was kind of a stretch to get it back to the front of the car...just make sure you measure and see if the length of the coax works in your application

Great antenna
Good little antenna for my handheld got a lot of mixed reviews so I gave it a shot and I can hear more thing’s than I can with the regular antenna on the handheld while in the truck

Powerful lightweight enhancement for traveling hams
This thing paired with a baofeng uv5r is a powerful and lightweight tool. I can hit distances and use in thick undulating terrain that I could never achieve with my handheld alone. Great for lightweight travel and setup in a rental car (just make sure not to get an f150, aluminum!!). We travel the country volunteering as hams and this is our go to when we only travel with a single backpack.

Performs as needed
There are certainly better Mag-Mount antennas out there, but I liked the fact that this one was already set up to connect directly to my Baofeng UV5R without an adapter. My biggest complaint is fairly minor. The connector does not rotate so I have to screw the radio to the cable instead of the wire to the cable. Would I buy another one, I might.
