Nice Hatchet
Amazon was the shipper of this item and they really messed up the order. It's wasn't the fault of the seller at all but they still fixed Amazon's mistake! They are a great vendor/seller! I have now purchased several items from them just because I know they are a good seller! This review is for their hatchet. It's a nice hatchet but it's definitely not an axe - you can't chop logs for the fire place with it; it just doesn't have the heft. It's great for chopping smaller limbs for a camp fire or sharpening stakes and such though. It has O-rings so you can store items in the handle without them getting wet; like matches. The ferro rod works REALLY well if you know how to use one. Just be sure to get the black off the rod (like all ferro rods) or you won't get any sparks.I've used it on several "light" camping trips now (you'll see from some of the different scenes in the video) and it did fine. I'll be going down to the Everglades next week to do some "heavier" camping and I'll really put it to the test down there. All in all, I like the hatchet; it's a good multi-tool. It's light enough to carry on your belt or rucksack when you need to and conveniently small enough to keep stored in my Jeep. You will need to sharpen it before you use it though because it doesn't come very sharp. I'd definitely recommend this hatchet to my friends.

Do NOT waste your money.
I should have taken the hint because of how tacti-cool this thing looked but I didn't. The only reason I give it one star is because it was sharp. Otherwise I would give it zero if I could. Right out of the package it seemed sturdy enough, all of the individual tools seemed legit, until the first time i tried to use it...The hammer on the end is too wide to split kindling, because it stops the hatchet from passing through the wood, and then when you try to add any tension to split the wood, it comes unscrewed and apart. The only thing that this thing was good for was throwing it at a tree a few times after admitting that I wasted 40 bucks on it. Buy a nice hatchet without 4 useless tools instead of this one if you intend on using it for anything practical at all, otherwise this is only good if you want to look cool or kill someone or something, because I just got back from a three day camping trip and it wasn't useful once.

Not a good design
The problem with this axe is that the head doesn't lock into place so every time you hit wood the axe head spins and unthreads.... Not a great design they should have just put a latch or something to lock the head into place. I use it like a stake splitter to split wood.... If you plan on using this as an actual axe it's not very good

Great axe/ multitool. AMAZING company!
Initially, I was looking for a traditional hatchet (wooden handle) for an upcoming backpacking trip I was planning. But, after watching some youtube videos on "best backpacking hatchet" which had nothing but positive reviews of this camping axe, I decided to purchase one for myself.First, I have only 3 complaints for the axe. 1) For any backpacker, weight is always at the forefront of any purchase. This axe is heavy. But, I made the decision to add it to my kit because I felt the positives of the axe outweighed the negatives. Plus, I purchased it knowing that it would weigh a lot. So, this is one complaint that I was already anticipating when I was making my purchase. 2) The handle of the axe is round. So, the user is not able to easily index it and know where the cutting edge of the axe blade is. This became an issue when chopping fire wood and the axe head would dislodge and loosen/ unscrew after every swing. At first, I thought it was a defective. But, after a few swings, I realized that it was user error. After making adjustments to my grip to properly index the axe, I had no issues with the axe head. 3) After, normal use, the compass at the bottom of the handle came off exposing a needle. The first 2 issues weren't really issues at at all. And. the 3rd issue was taken care by contacting IUNIO. I have to say that dealing with IUNIO has been nothing short of AMAZING. They are a company that makes a quality product and stands behind it. I was contacted by Candy, who made sure a new piece was sent out, made sure it was received, and followed up to make sure I was satisfied. I wish IUNIO made more products for backpacking because after using their axe and multi tools, and dealing with Candy, I trust them 100%. I know that I will get a quality product, backed by a quality company. The replacement compass hasn't broken off, even after many uses. I love having the option to either pack the axe up in the included pouch or, to put the axe together and carry it on my pack. Having that option, helps me to be versatile in the field. Also, you can adjust the length of the axe handle to suit your needs. This axe has become a permanent part of my backpacking kit-regardless of the weight. I recommend it 100%. You will not be disappointed. And, you can purchase with confidence, knowing that IUNIO will stand by their product and really have their customer's satisfaction in mind.

Very well made multi tool for overnight camping fishing.
This is nice ax for small tasks. It makes two useful 'cutters' that two people can use. The ax with a short handle and a two sided saw/knife with 2.5 inch very high quality sharp blades. So its perfect for cutting branches 2 inches in diameter for your fire or to hammer stakes into the ground for your tent, but its not designed for chopping wood to last you through the winter and its not for log cabin construction. Both the ax and the knife are good for chopping up a chicken and scaling fish or any food prep you can probably skin a deer with it too. And you can pack some salt and pepper in the handles.
