Clear compact Optic
I was looking for a nice magnified optic for my go bag without either the bulk or weight of a set of binoculars. Knowing the reputation and quality of Vortex optics, I chose this little monocular in their mid price range. While it may not be their absolute top tier optic, at half the price, you sacrifice none of the functionality. It is compact, easy to use and most importantly, there when you need it to be. The glass is crystal clear as are the mil-dot markings and while I have yet to use them, I have used the ranging silhouette and found them handy and accurate. The focus ring I have found on my optic to have just enough resistance to hold focus once I get it there, but it is not overly difficult to adjust. Just a pleasant palpable resistance to let you know the monocular is well put together. I like the included case, alot, it has attached to the MOLLE slots on my pack solidly with very minimal play. Where I do agree with my fellow reviewers is that it can be slow and difficult to take the monocular in and out of the case repetitively. The case is great for long term carry, but if you are going to be using the monocular often over a short period of time, I would utilize the included belt clip which is solid and will keep the optic with you and handy. I wasn't entirely sure this was what I was wanting, until using it I found it was exactly what I needed. Vortex did an amazing job with this little monocular and I recommend it highly. Amazon had it to me in just a couple of days and with provided tracking, there were no issues there at all.

Very clear optics
I'm happy with this scope its small and light weight and travels well with gear since its well protected within the provided case. Able to sight in quickly with one hand once set. I almost took of a star because of the no tripod connection, but that would not be fare since that is not what this is intended for. As a small stow away scope this works quite well for its price range and has a solid build quality.

Good monocular - not a disappointment.
A well built and rugged unit. While it's no Swarovski, at this price point the glass is excellent. There is a slight bias toward the reds - looking at a white surface through the unit vs viewing same surface via naked eye, there is a very slight pinkish tone. Without making the direct comparison, this bias is not noticeable. It's for quick peeks at stuff, not for spending a day bird-watching. :-)Haven't had a chance to check the reticule against a known size object at known distance yet, but I'm sure it fine. Reticule offset to the left so it doesn't interfere with field of view when one is not using the unit for ranging. Focus rings are quite stiff (both reticule and view focus). I suspect this is a by product of the seals. Better to have seals that will not fail vs very easy to move focus with seals that will end up leaking with use. The lens covers are a nice touch. The rubber eyepiece rotates so one that is left eye dominant can use it with the left eye. This unit will live in the console of my truck for viewing stuff at a distance when I feel the need or in the range back for viewing groups. My Swaro binos are both two damn big (and expensive) to toss in my truck for casual peeks at a distant item.

Very happy with my purchase!
Just bought the recce pro hd and first impressions were great. Totally worth it in my opinion. That being said if you’re reading this you’re probably like me and read the other reviews as well. One of the reviews I read kinda tried to throw this optic under the bus lol. They sounded very opinionated so I had to see for myself about the performance and ergonomics of this monocular. So far so good lol the pouch fits the monocular with ease(I think they were trying to do something a** backwards lol), and you could easily manipulate it with one hand lol the clip is in a fine position unless you’re a (in my nice voice) prissy pants lol it’ll be located under your thumb, so if your having a issue don’t grab it like you’re trying to break it. Alternatively you could wear gloves if your kong fu grip is to serious lol as for the ring tightness, they are a bit stiff but if you’ve owned vortex optics before you should already have a idea of how these feel. The glass is extremely clear and exceeded my expectations. I love the radical and the placement of it. The silhouettes make range guestimation easier. The crosshairs are nice for making corrections on paper. I’m also a fan of the crosshairs being offset. The upper right portion of the monocular gives you a clear and unobstructed view of your target. They also have the look and feel of something that can take a beating. I would recommend this for duty use. All and all I think that these were the best choice for me. Will update if anything changes but I do like the quality to say the least and you can’t beat the Vortex VIP warranty.

Nice Monocular
Just received the monocular and it's just what I was looking for. It's nice to have lens caps on both the objective and ocular lenses for protection from dust and water if you are not using the carrying case. Have not had the chance to use the reticle for range finding but I'm sure it'll be useful when I need it. The optics are clear and bright and the focusing wheel is easy to use. It's a bit heavy but reasonable when you see how rugged it is.

Terrible Holster.
Monocular is great!, holster is terrible; material is harsh and fit is very tight. I will look for options to replace holster.

Fantastic ranging reticle with independant reticle focus
Worth every penny and a bargain at this price. Very bright clear optics edge to edge. Fantastic ranging reticle with independant reticle focus. High quality fde molle pouch, and decent built in lens caps. Unmatched lifetime warranty by vortex. This is a lifetime purchase, just don't lose it. I am an optics snob and have no problem spending 4 figures on glass. This is the best bang for the buck I have ever bought.
