Designed to deliver maximum performance in a lightweight chassis, the Rainier 27.2 dropper post is all about reliable performance for riders looking for 80mm of travel in a 27.2mm diameter post. And best of all, you'll have plenty of cash left over to take the Squad out for beers when you feel bad for roasting them on the trail. Built from the ultra light and strong 7075-t73 alloy, the Rainier dropper post offers 80mm travel and ergonomically designed remote lever. Make sure to measure the seat tube of your bike to ensure this post will fit. Some full suspension models with a bend or pivot placed through the seat tube can interfere with inserting the post to desired height.

No need to stop and drop - perfect dropper for adjusting on the fly!
After plenty of research under the constraint of finding a dropper for a not-so-common 27.2 mm diameter seat post, I was thrilled to come across this PNW 80 mm dropper. What little I could find on this product convinced me it was worth taking a chance and I'm glad I did. Install and routing was simple. It is set and forget. I have it set so the max extension is a tad tall for me on level ground, put is perfect with sag on steeper climbs. The 80 mm is more than enough travel to clear my shorts on descents and provide a comfortable way to hug my saddle with my legs and get behind it when the going gets really steep. I've felt no movement from the post. If it is moving, I haven't noticed and that is a win in my book. I would highly recommend this post to anyone looking for a 27.2 mm dropper. It's early in the season but so far so good!

Not well known but great product.
Can't say enough good things about this dropper post. At first I wished it was internal routing but external has proven to be useful when it needed some maintenance recently. Plenty of cable to route it and the lever took a bit of getting used to but I dont mind it at all. If there was anything I wasn't a huge fan of its the metal piece that the cable initially is routed through out of the lever. That curved piece became a bit damaged after a ride and I placed my bike down. I didnt detract anything from the product rating wise because that could be user error but I still think there's a better design that could've been done. I've used this for probably at least 6-8 months now with quite a few rides on it. It's performed flawless with plenty of tests at this point. A friend of mine who rides with me seems to think that this came on his GT Sanction too and now that he's seen me with my PNW he feel confident about it.

Great Product; Great Price
Wow! Hard enough to find a 27.2 dropper, but to find this excellent product at this price point was a great surprise. I've been using for a couple months now and has performed flawlessly. Post is very rigid when in the raised position; no slop what so ever. Actuation is smooth (up & down) and quick to return even at sub 30deg(f) temps. I was a little concerned by what seemed to be a short travel of 80mm, but the saddle is plenty low enough for aggressive corning and drops. Love it.

Can't beat it for the price
Works well. It could have more travel, but it gets the job done. Seriously changed my ability to ride downhills. The lever is solid and reliable, seems simple but not all levers are created equal.

Fanastic dropper post, and great customer support.
Excellent dropper post! Been using it for a month now with no complaints. On one ride I had a bit of a crash and I lost the dropper post rod nut, and the cable snapped where it was exposed (I may have not tightened it enough). After contacting PNW Components they sent me a replacement very quickly. Great support and thanks again!

This is a great dropper post
This is a great dropper post. I love it. Best money I've spent for an upgrade. Installed a 27.2 on my Trek X-Caliber 8. Getting ready to buy a Closeout 2015 Specialized: Enduro Comp 29 tomorrow and am going to make my first upgrade the 125mm travel Cascade to go along with my graduation from hard tail to full suspension. .

One of the few 27.2mm options, has been great so far.
I have to be honest and say that this is the first dropper i have ever owned.I have been using it for two months to the date of this review, and I am totally satisfied with it.They promise no lateral movement thanks to some special construction, and they deliver, the lateral play is a big fat zero.I was not so sure if 80mm travel would be enough, but I have found out that it is plenty to get the saddle out of the way for those hops and drops. I have the post inserted almost all the way in, maybe 100mm travel would have been nicer, but not totally necessary. The post also features a sealed cartridge, which is both good and bad, depending on your point of view. The good is that maintenance is very easy, the bad is that you cannot tune-up the necessary force to push down the sit or the speed in which it pops up. I am more on the tinkering side, but even so I feel the default settings of the post are good enough anyway. So all in all, this is a solid post and I 100% recommend it.

great product, price, and service
very few 27.2mm diameter dropper posts, and this was a great price. I've had this for 6 months now, riding twice a week. Seat goes up and down dozens of times during my rides. I like that it comes up fast, there's a solid sound when's it at the top and I know I can lower my weight back onto the seat. remote lever is made of metal, other posts in this price range made out of plastic that can too easily break. I installed myself no problem. before I bought I asked for a set of directions from PNW and immediately rec'd a copy, seems like a great company.
