Quality Replacement Chain
I’ve been using Shimano bike chains for decades. Currently my e-bike came with this chain so I replaced with same. I get very good life with the chain and glad that Shimano went with a quick link in lieu of the pin.

Can Do Replacement
The quick link feature makes it possible to replace a worn chain yourself fairly easily. Specialized tools are needed and the installation is explained in various YouTube videos. I have a Shimano Dura Ace system on two of my bikes, so whenever possible I use Dura Ace chains. In my experience the chains last about 4000 miles. I keep records, but I also have a gauge to measure the stretch. Not changing the chain on time can damage the cassette and front rings that can lead to more expensive repairs.

Trek via chat advised me that the Shimano chain is the correct replacement chain for my Trek Cross Rip 3 bicycle. I replaced my original chain which was stretched beyond specified limits with the new Shimano chain and shifting was perfect.

I should have probably bought this from my LBS, but what the heck.

Some Stiff Links
This chain is a quality replacement, however, I have noticed that a few of the links are stiff and is causing an alarming skipping sensation when I am in the smallest cogs on the rear tire. I will get around to sorting it out, but it would be nice to not have to sort it out.
