So yeh, it sure is waterproof. I bought these for use on couch and dog bed (I bought two) for times when my creek loving labs come in with swamp dampened fur. I never seem to get them fully dried off, so them having a towel or easy to clean blanket helps mop up the rest of their wetness. Been using it like so for few weeks now, washed them a couple of times. Feels dense but soft.How I found out that they are REALLY waterproof is that once in awhile one of my cats will decide to PEE on the couch or dog bed. I tossed this on their dog bed, which is sort of loose looking (as opposed to couch where it seems to stay straightened out), and I noticed that it was holding pee. The pee had not soaked into the material. SO I carefully picked it up and poured off the pee. In hindsight, I should have tossed a towel on it to soak up the pee instead of trying to walk through the house with a puddle of pee.It is waterproof. That's great. If using it to keep liquids from a place that can easily be washed, then this will do it. However, I would top it with something that can soak up the liquid. So for me, I will put this on the couch cushion then top it with a big towel or small easy to wash blanket. Then pee (or whatever) will hit that first, soak up, and THIS cover will keep the pee (or other liquid) from seeping down to cushion, mattress, etc.It's durable feeling material, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for providing extra protection from nails, claws, wear and tear and such, as well as the waterproof aspect. One of the pictures from a review shows what I experienced: the liquid sits on top. So yeh, it is waterproof.I'll update if I experience anything else worth sharing, especially if I notice it not working anymore.

It honestly is the perfect cover. I’ve had this for 3 month and when it was time to wash my couch, it was barely dirty. Compared to the other part that is not covered, the water was gross. For the most part it stays in place. We take it off when guess comes over and it’s easy to wash as well.

The product description says both "Waterproof" and "Water resistant." Definitely not waterproof. I had to get something for my dog as she was taking a medication that made her incontinent. This is a nice quality, light weight microfiber blanket, but not waterproof. My big dog peed in her sleep, and by the time I woke up in the morning it had soaked through the blanket. So for a smaller dog, or for a shorter time with liquid, it works. For a large amount of liquid and/or an extended time, it will soak through. Blanket washes and dries nicely.

I always look for a product that is waterproof to cover an ottoman that my cat, for some reason, likes to pee on. Before I even put any waterproof cover on the ottoman, I put a tight-fitting waterproof cover on it first (because the current cover I was using was supposed to be waterproof, but the urine always went through it and directly onto AND into the ottoman). Then I would have to pull out my "Green Machine" to wash the ottoman, which is a lot of work trying to absorb the urine and get the smell out. Please excuse me mentioning another product but FYI "Angry Orange" is an amazing product and is an excellent addition for washing dog beds, covers or whatever needs a little extra help for smelling good and removing the urine smell. It's a concentrate (and smells like oranges), so you just put a few drops in with your liquid detergent. It's awesome!So, I bought this throw, put it on the ottoman and then waited for the cat to pee on it eventually. She didn't disappoint me. She peed on it and THIS COVER DID WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO. It is absolutely waterproof. Nothing went through it and the tight-fitting cover beneath was NOT wet and did NOT have any smell on it. I WAS THRILLED! FINALLY, SOMETHING THAT IS TRUE TO IT'S WORD!!!!!But here was my problem… because the urine didn't leak through, it sat on top of the cover so when my cat peed on it in one of the corners of the ottoman, it ran down the side of it and onto the floor. So, this cover won't be good for the ottoman, but I still truly recommend this product, because it does work! I had not taken into consideration that the urine would sit on top of the cover. Had the urine not run down the side and onto the floor, my dog would have jumped up on ottoman eventually to lay on it and look out the window and could have laid in the urine. Not everyone is dealing with the cat pee situation and will be using it for normal circumstances, so this really could work well for you.I love the material and how it looks so clean and neat. I will still be using this cover on a small couch that is designated "the dog's couch" which I keep covered at all times. I don't want "the wet spot" from him licking his paws, etc., or any hair and possible doggy smell going directly on the couch. This way, I can wash and dry the throw, put it back on the couch and everything stays smelling great. By the way, this washes and dry's really well and quickly.If you’re looking for a cover something so regular spills don’t soak into your couch, bed or whatever, this cover is PERFECT. If it’s to cover a piece of furniture that your cat likes to pee on, then it might not be for you because of the urine sitting on top of the throw. All in all, it’s a great product and I'm going to buy another one to have on hand.I apologize for the lengthy review, but this is the kind of information I look for when reading a review on an item I want to buy.

My cat has a behavioral issue and pees on my bed a lot. This cover has saved me so much time and frustration- and water! If he pees on it, I simply wipe it up with toilet paper and spray with odor remover. Sometimes the smell does permeate down to lower layers, but the liquid never does. Only con is if he sprays at an angle, it does splash and then I have spots of water everywhere.This works so well I bought to cover other beds and also an extra in case one is being washed.

This product really works. It's a light weight quilt and liquids just bead up for easy clean up. Washes well and holds color and the fabric stays sturdy.

It says this blanket is machine washable but after washing according to instructions it lost its waterproof feature. My cat peed on the bed and it soaked through three layers of sheets. Avoid.

This product would have been nice but sad to say....NOT WATERPROOF

In the world of my "it's okay" it means it could have been better. Disappointed by th colour and how well, or not so well, it's working to cover my couch.

If your pet pees on it and you clean it right away, it won’t go onto the couch. If the pee is there for a bit longer, it goes through the blanket and into the couch. Extremely disappointed.
