how big are the pieces?

This was a gift, so I don't have the puzzle; however, I helped put it together and as I remember the pieces were about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches. Not so small as to make the puzzle too difficult.

My mom has very poor eyesight and misses doing puzzles. Would anyone suggest this for her?

It is a very cute picture, not very sharp. If she has poor eyesight it would not be a good puzzle for her. Check out the brand Buffalo Puzzles 300 pcs. I have all the Charles Wysocki ones and they are easy and very cute. The pieces are good sized and easy to pick up. Amazon carries all of the ones I have. I too love puzzles and put one together every Sunday. I have put 2 different 1000pc puzzles together and they are fun, but they take me several days. Good Luck.
