First, It's a good product, well made. I haven't had it up long enough to gauge longevity yet, but it seems sturdy.I just finished putting it together and there are few things that would have been helpful to know before purchasing. There are four main parts. The L shaped pieces are what attach to the rail. The H shape is your base for the table. You screw the H shape into the bottom of your table, then attach the H shape to the L shape base. You have the choice to mount the H shape base so that the table is centered on the rail, or so that it is offset towards you, allowing you to sit under it.Building the table: Your table is going to be around 18" deep. The instructions call for three 1"x6" boards to be used as the table. A 1"x6" is really closer to 1" x 5.5", so you'll end up with a table that is around 16.5" deep. You could use a single piece of wood, but the H frame is 16" deep, so that is as narrow as it can go. I used three 1"x6" boards, cut to 6 foot length. Painted them first, then attached the H frame base. Screws are included to attach to the H frame.I used a 1"x2" board to create backstop around the outside, so things wouldn't roll off. I bought an 8 foot 1"x2". I cut it to 6 feet for the outer edge, then cut two 11.5" pieces to use along the sides. I angled the front of the 1"x2" side pieces at a 45 degree angle. The boards are placed flat, so they are 2" wide and 1" high. I used 1 1/2" wood screws to attach the backstop, but 1 1/4" will work as well. I attached the backstop by screwing through the bottom, so I would not see the screws. Once attached, I mounted the top to the L shaped base and added a touch up coat of paint.It is designed to come off easily. The L shape is attached to the rail using two pieces that screw together to form a clamp. To remove it , just loosen the screw and rotate the piece facing you. then the whole thing just lifts off.

I love this and easy to DIY. I used 8' composite deck boards (3x) and added some 15"x1.25"x2" wood scrap pieces to ends to keep entire 8' length level. If did 6' or less would not need the added wood support pieces. 4 people can sit very comfortably. I bought Counter Height chairs. With the table being about 1.25" raised it does sit a little high so you may want to get Bar chairs. I still prefer Counter Height as easier to get in/out of. Overall, I love this product and ability to create quickly a table top to overlook our lake. Can be stored easily also. Note: composite deck boards look GREAT but do cost more (@$25each for 8').

Couldn’t find a nice matching table, so I bought this hardware and some deck boards and built my own. It fit perfectly, was easy to put together, and is very sturdy. And it takes up less space than a side table.

I installed in May of 2021 and as of this review, most all of the hardware and fastening components have either completely rusted and are seized or the rubber friction mount on the grabs and table top side fell off.Given this product will find it's home in outdoor settings, some of which will be along coasts, you would think the manufacturer and engineer would have considered stainless and/or aluminum hardware and outdoor marine / urethane-based adhesives on the rubber padding materials.In four months, they are falling apart and rusting.

Gave this one 4 stars. It is very nicely made. That said, just a little pricey. But overall, I recommend this product.

We purchased two sets of these and made our bar 14ft long. We love this product and it was just what we needed to bring our vision to life!
