This purchase was part of my effort to minimize my kitchen. While I do have a proper set of measuring spoons, I have a tendency to just wing it when it comes to recipes. I never measure spices--and for baking, I tend to just half fill the 1 tsp spoon instead of pulling out the actual 1/2 tsp spoon--likewise for the 1/4 tsp spoon.This wooden spoon sits out ready for me to use and provides the only two measurements that I really need. Because it is so pretty, I can display it with my other wooden spoons.

I really love the look of this and it’s nice to have a separated measuring spoon, especially the tablespoon and teaspoon since these measurements are commonly used. I did check to see how accurate the spoon is and it is a bit off. Each side is a little smaller than the intended measurement. To be accurate you have to heap your measurements. I would use this only for cooking and not baking since the measurements are off.

If you really want a wooden measuring spoon, this one's beautiful, sturdy, etc. Just make sure that you don't need to get right up to the edge--for my tea usage I don't so this works great.
