Great overall quality for the price
This is the third TV I purchased from Amazon in the past 3 months due to having to replace the first two. The first was a 50 inch Samsung, which had terrible picture quality, so returned it and second TV was JVC 48-inch, which was defective due to it never turning on. These unsuccessful attempts led to the purchase of this LG 49LF5100 49-In TV. My family loves it! After making a few adjustments to the audio, the overall experience this model offers is great. The picture quality is excellent, providing vivid color and imaging. We also purchased a Roku 2 for streaming Netflix and other programming, and it is highly compatible with this TV; very happy with how well we can stream and view movies and our favorite TV shows. The only aspect of the TV I am not content with is the aesthetics of the base. As you can see in the picture provided by Amazon, it comes with two odd shaped supports, which remind me of a pair of small black shoes. LG could have done a better job of designing the base. However, for the overall quality, this LG 48-inch TV is offered at a great price.

LOVE MY NEW SET
I was a little apprehensive to order a TV set online but I am so glad I did.Picture is great. Sound is very good and it has USB ports so I can stream from my Rouku3LOVE THIS TV!UPDATE 8/13/18The sound on this set was good for about 6months. However, after that the set had a bad "rattle" when you turned up the volume past 10-11. The picture is great but the sound quality is horrible. I guess that is why it was so inexpensive. To elevate this issue, I had to purchase a sound bar to bypass the factory speakers inside the set.

No audio out port
Overall the TV is nice, however I never saw that there's not an audio out port. So now we have this nice size tv for our living room and it does not connect to our LG sound bar. The audio on the tv is not that great. Why would LG put out 2 new products that are simply not compatible for each other? That is, unless you have a cable box for the optical port to connect to..... A little frustrated. I called LG and they confirmed that they will not work together without a cable box. That means no movies with surround sound. My advise is, if you're ever interested in this tv don't be interested in any additional audio.

Decent TV, but not all that.
First of all, the model pictured isn't the 49LF5100. The one in the pictures is a 4K Smart TV model, while the 49LF5100 is just a regular HDTV with no smart capabilities. I knew this going in, but just a heads up for those relying on photos, as the ports on the back are different than the pictures. The good news is that the overall look and design is the same.Secondly, this television has ZERO audio outputs, so you'll need to get an HDMI switcher box or an AV receiver in order to plug in external speakers. Apparently newer cheaper TVs these days aren't coming with audio outputs since companies assumes you'll have an AV receiver, apparently..Don't expect anything extraordinary from the picture quality. It looks decent, but that's about it. I mostly bought this to replace a cheap 40-inch TV that I had. I tend not to spend a lot of money on TVs since I'm not a huge videophile.

No Audio Output
I've had this tv for 3-1/2 years and it worked fine yesterday (7/28/19) and today the picture is faded with pixelated snow! I called their customer support and they directed me on how to fix it. It's now working fine again. The tv is okay if you don't want to add a sound bar of surround system. I'm unable to connect anything to it as there is no audio output. If you use a cable box, you can add surround sound, but if you cut the cord, you cannot.

Great HD set!
We purchased this at an excellent price. It was delivered fast and well protected. WE have had no issues with this product at all. The only thing I would like to have had would of been an output for sound to my sound bar. I have two HDMI (only two ports) but it has AV in not out. This can be remedied without a major hassle. Also be aware it only has two HDMI ports. My other had 5 (which the kids snatched promptly for their consoles). Other than that picture is great, sound is nice and has a great look.

The 49LF5100 a nice basic LED
The 49LF5100 a nice basic LED, exactly what meets my needs, at a very nice price for an LG.Only 2 HDMI input, 1 Component for the Cable box, 1 USB in (That I have not tried yet), and 1 "old school" Antenna/cable in. The picture quality seems to be as good as my previous LCD, but the sound (speakers) is not as good. Sound quality was fixed with my Stereo set up.I did lose the audio output option on this model. My fix: running the Blu Ray and Cable Box audio out into the stereo system. My same great Infinity Speakers routed a different way. Finally, I needed to add this review to point out that the power input is clearly marked in the instructions, "DC-In". Plug the two part power cord where you see DC-IN, near all of the other input ports. (Another review pointed this out as an issue. The instructions are very clear and similar to just about every modern electrical item)
