Great for keeping weeds at bay and assisting with soil water retention
Wonderful garden addition! I bought this burlap from Amazon after buying a smaller roll from a local hardware store (City Mill). Itʻs much cheaper for much more on Amazon, so Iʻll be buying from here in the future. I use the burlap to cover the soil in my garden in between planted rows. it helps to keep the weeds at bay, but it does allow some light to pass through, so it doesn't completely eliminate the issue. The weaving has roughly 1/8' to 1/4" square spacing. The weaving is also loose enough that I can wiggle trellis support stakes through it without needing to cut anything, but sturdy enough to keep loose soil from running away with the rain. The burlap does a nice job of keeping a bit of extra moisture in the soil on dry days as well. Will definitely buy again when this burlap degrades (although it's been putting up nicely with a tropical rainy season so far, so hopefully I won't need to replace for a while!).

Does what I need it to.
I used this to line 2 flower boxes that are too small for the coco fiber liners I see everywhere. I cut a piece of burlap and fold it over a few times and line my boxes. I also have a weed barrier inside the burlap. It looks very nice showing through the black wrought iron of the flower boxes. The weave is a loose weave but that isn't an issue since I fold it over. I have plenty left for next year to redo the boxes and to use in other places around my property.the price is reasonable for what I needed and for having extra.

Great for shielding/filtering sun for transplanted saguaros
Just saved a few saguaro's from a contruction site and one seemed to be burning from the AZ sun after being transplanted. So we shield/filter the saguaro's with burlap from the sun until they adjust. The weave on the burlap was not that tight so doubled up and serves the purpose which worked out with the 48" width. Overall this is a good durable product, natural and much cheaper then getting at Home Depot. Holding up to the AZ sun and wind with no issues so far.

Good quality, well ventilated burlap.
I bought this burlap to cover burning bushes that were being eaten by rabbits. I liked this because it looked well ventilated for rain and sunlight to get to the plant if I don't uncover it first thing in the spring. It has served this purpose well so far. It's been in place for over a month and is still tied snugly around each bush. If they eat through this...I'm out of ideas! The quality of the fabric is solid and cut easily enough with scissors. This is good burlap and quite a bit cheaper than at my local hardware store.

Great for lining planter boxes
I bought this burlap to line my planter boxes with & it works great. I had my doubts at first but I'm willing to try just about anything once. I am new to gardening & was looking for some type of barrier that would allow water to drain from the large holes I put in my planter boxes, without losing potting soil through the holes. Well let me tell you, this was just the ticket. The burlap is loosely woven so you can see through it. Don't use it for a weed barrier because it will not stop the weeds from poking through. Very happy with this purchase.

The thinnest burlap I've ever come across in my many years of gardening....
Very open weave, VERY lightweight and frays TERRIBLY! I didn't expect a heavy burlap for the price I paid, but this stuff was worse than expected. I bought it to fasten to fences around small, newly transplanted evergreen trees to protect them from harsh winds & sun while they adjust and had to use a double layer to accomplish that. It's so lightweight, it didn't hold out much of anything. There's always a use for just about everything on the farm and in the garden, the price was low, and I'm sure I'll find a use for what's left of the roll at some point. For that reason, I gave it 3 stars rather than 2 but be aware that you'll be getting what is the thinnest, weakest burlap I've ever come across.

One of the most surprising things I've ever purchased on Amazon
This is honestly one of the most surprising things I've bought on Amazon. For years I was googling how to stop birds from digging up and eating all my new grass seed and how to also stop raccoons from digging in the loose soil. This is like magic. In a couple of days, the grass underneath is thick and vigorous. This also has the added benefit of shade and moisture retention.

Used for frost protection
I used this for light frost protection. I'm in south georgia, Zone 8b, so this did suit my purposes. We had one night that dipped to just 32f and the rest of the month was due to be warm so I wanted to protect an alyssum and ajuga bed from the early frost. Its very thin, and is wide thatched and see-through. I probably wouldn't use this any further north as a single layer but it could be used to wrap around tender shrubs etc (more than once) in colder climates I'm sure. The price is a bargain so I had purchased 2.
