Hotel Transylvania [DVD] [2012]

We are big fans of this series in our house. It has the perfect divide of humor for kids and the adults watching with them. My kids have watched it from 4 on and I don’t think it is too scary for that age and up. Perfect for October!

These are the words of Mavis Dracula as she expresses her desire to go out and explore the world outside of Hotel Transylvania. Her father built the hotel with the intentions of keeping his daughter safe from humans and offering a haven for all monsters and horror characters.This movie is a lot of fun, great for all ages. There are a number of catchy quotes my family likes to share and repeat along with the movie or at the breakfast table! It's got everything from romance to coming of age, parenting struggles and even fart humor. What's not to like?

it is a great movie, the kids will love. it has the adults joke for the parents to look for, fun time for all the family. What's not to like. You can watch it over and over to see what you missed in the back ground.

I gave this movie a shot thinking it would be like so many of the substandard CGI movies out there now, but I was surprised to find the humor original, creative, and well-timed. This movie actually keeps your attention and is chock-full of quick jokes that you might miss if you weren't paying attention. It's also very well-animated so it's eye candy as well.I originally had rented it from the library thinking I wanted to see it once and wouldn't really love it too much, but I DID love it so I had to order it! The voice actors do such a great job and the animation is top notch. So happy with this movie.

I like the Movie we have Hotel Transylvania 2 . i purchased this item thinking that it was a digital copy along with the 7.99 DVD. Since that is what the description said. I got it today so excited to put it on my VUDU account and come to find out it DOESN'T include the Digital Copy like it says in all the descriptions. So I will be returning it ... nothing against the seller but please make sure you have the correct information before selling something

my kids will sit and watch this movie all day if we don't turn it off. amazon.com has really taken care of us as far as getting things to us fixing any kind of small problems that were more our fault than anything. I stopped shopping at Walmart.com because amazon offers better prices and offers more selection on bulk items like diapers and wipes. This is a delightfully fun and clever family movie for all occasions. The voice overs of the characters all are all "Big Name" Starswho are accurately matched up with their monster's! The theme is one of love of family and looking deeper than a person'soutside appearance; a.k.a. "Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover". I would recommend this movie to anyone. Keep and open mind,realize this is a fun, entertaining movie, get some popcorn and a coke and enjoy!

I watched this when it was released and it is easily one of my favourite children's films but my son had always been too young until now to watch it and he loves it. The film has been on a near constant loop on our DVD player for at least a week and thankfully with the release of Hotel Transylvania 2 my son is now happily obsessively watching that for a change!The film run time is approximately 1 hour 30 mins and this DVD is one disc. Dracula built Hotel Transylvania as a sanctuary for monsters after he lost his wife to a pitchfork wielding mob. Dracula's daughter Mavis is soon to turn 118 and so he has invited all of the monsters including his friends Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man and The Werewolf to a special party for her. Unfortunately a human backpacker stumbles upon the hotel with hilarious consequences when Dracula has to hide his real identity from the other monsters to prevent an all out panic that there is a scary human in their sanctuary!The film is really funny and the storyline is brilliant and well thought out. Thankfully there aren't really any scary parts in the film and so this should be suitable for most children and my son and younger daughter both love watching this film.

Our daughters (4&7 year olds) absolutely love the Hotel Transylvania films and we’ve had to watch 2&3 over and over again but ironically we didn’t have the first one so happily bought this for them knowing we’d be watching this one over and over again. They laugh out loud so much with this and you can see the stresses of the day (particularly at this time) just melt away and to be honest, us “grown ups” love this too, it’s very funny, light hearted with good morals and great music. Even if you need the kids to sit still for a while so you can get some stuff done you’ve got a good “baby sitter” here (obviously wouldn’t leave them in the house alone though 😂). Great family entertainment

Hotel Transylvania is one of those films that are meant to be enjoyed by the whole family as there is something in there for all ages.A hotel created by Dracula as a safe haven for his daughter Mavis, so that she can get to know other monsters but be safe from humans.Dracula always reminds all the monsters about humans due to his wife being killed by them.He put much in place that would scare every human from coming near but he did not bank on Johnny. He is the only human to make it to the hotel and so not to upset the guests they pass him off as a monster.This causes some very funny problems.The story has a little romance and some icky things that the children would love.Fantastic computer animation, bluray sharp and clear picture.

An enjoyable cartoon about Dracula, who sets up a holiday resort in his castle for other monsters, e.g. Frankenstein's monster, werewolf, invisible man etc., Dracula also has a teenage daughter (118), so he throws a birthday party for her, into which arrives a human (male) hitchhiker, as the monsters are terrified of humans, he has to keep him hidden to stop his guests from leaving. Of course the daughter is attracted to the boy, and the rest of the film revolves around Dracula's attempts to keep his guests, and his daughter happy. As I said before an enjoyable film, with enough funny characters to amuse the children, and references to the horror film genre to keep the adults amused.

Okay, so the idea of monsters being frightened of humans has been done in 'Monsters Inc' but there's plenty of room at the table for another kid friendly monster movie. One newspaper review I read for this when it first came out was that it was for kids that were scared by 'Paranorman' and 'Frankenweenie' and that pretty much nails it. My three year old grandaughter absolutely loves Jack Skellington from 'Nightmare before Christmas' so this will be right up her street.If you have a 3D tv then this is the disc to get. The animation is superb and the 3D is just natural, no stupid effects jumping down your throat, just great use of a much maligned medium.Whilst we're talking about quality the sounds is also very good with a lot of good use of the surround sound field.Overall this a great animated feature for kids of all ages up to at least 54.
