Umbra 086300-410 , Nickel Swinger 12-Gallon Swing-Top Waste Can

I don’t like that the flap can’t swing around if the van is more than 3/4 full because the the shape and how low it scoops, but this is a general downside to the swing top cans. If you are fine with that this is a great can for you. I bought it for the basement where my teenagers and husband game in the hopes that they would pick up after themselves if the van was within 5 feet of their body. This however was an unrealistic expectation on my part. The most exciting thing about this if you ask my youngest is that it comes in a giant box and he played in it for days before destroying it and leaving it in the living room. I need a maid.

I bought this because I love the Umbra stuff, and also for the oval shape (it fits in my cabinet perfectly). What I didn't realize is that it is superior in design compared to other flip-top trash bins. Most of them have a thin piece of plastic that pivots back and forth. Walk through any discount store and you'll find 5-6 of them for $10. But this one has extra weight added to the flipping piece that prevents it from spinning around 360 degrees, and helps move it back into place after tossing something away. In addition, the top doesn't just sit on top of the base; it actually clamps on securely. We've knocked it over and it didn't come dislodged. Excellent piece of engineering, Umbra. Well done!

So I really like this trashcan. I actually got it specifically for recycling. Feel it was a little overpriced but it was more convenient ordering it so pretty much paid for the convenience. Lost a star not just because of that but also because it was kinda dirty when I opened it. Not sure how it was already dirty. Didn't seem as though it was used and returned dirty but just stored in a dirty warehouse that they obviously need to pay more attention to or something idk. Im sort of ocd and clean my barrels regularly but I dont usually expect to have to when they're brand new.

Silly as it sounds lead as a little difficult to get put together and put on. Also while good and badd it's difficult to get the lid off when you have to take the bag out. If you're someone who has arthritis or any other difficulties with your hands this may not be the best product for you but it's very sturdy and it looks very nice.

It looks nice and is easy to clean. The big problem I have is with the lid. The swinging portion of it is so big that you can't fill the trash to the brim, or even 75%, without the lid getting stuck. The whole point of the lid is to be able to close easily and this one doesn't. Other than that, it works fine.

Just the right size and color for my back patio. Much better than what I had.

Swing lid does not return or stay in the closed position allowing odors to escape & looks unsightly. I asked for a refund on this defective product but I have to package it up (original packaging was destroyed when delivery left package in the pouring rain) & PAY RETURN POSTAGE. Poor service.

I have a small condo kitchen. This is just the right size. I also have to inquisitive chihuahuas. This keeps the trash in place. And the size is to large for them to tip over. Easy to use with swinging lid. Fits 13 gallon trash bags, which can be fitted over the lip.

Buen tamaño, cumple su función y precio muy aceptable a comparación de los de acero inoxidable. Si tu presupuesto es menor o vives en una zona donde el metal fácilmente se oxida, es la opción indicada.

Super sturdy, perfect size! The only annoying this is that the lid doesn’t turn back on it’s own, you kinda have to do it manually. It’s not too much of a bother for me though, and the sturdiness definitely outweighs this “downside.”

同サイズのゴミ箱の蓋が壊れてしまい、探していました。余り期待はしていなかったですが、実物はそこそこ重量感があり表面もザラザラしていて安っぽくは感じません。車椅子生活の妻が利用するためこの高さがちょうどよく、居間に置いていても問題ありません。想像以上に良かったです。

The price for this garbage can is very worthwhile because the plastic is thick and sturdy. Ones that I have bought in the past have become brittle and cracked, but this can seems a lot stronger. The large size is good because it means that I won't have to empty the garbage very often.
