the greatness is in the details!
I need to preface this review by stating I am not a backpacking expert and have just recently started to go on hikes that require more gear, thus how I ended up with this marvelous product. I had been researching online a good backpack, wasn't even considering the hydration pack option, just a simple(ish) backpack. While I was still in the research stages, I ended up being contacted about writing reviews in exchange for a Citro 30 H2O. I jumped at the opportunity and I now have a better backpack than I knew I wanted! The idea of having an added hydration pack is a wonderful bonus! Water bottles can present various challenges while hiking, biking, or doing other activities- so hands free hydration is better than I imagined it would be! The hydration system is easy to use, simple to clean, and holds a generous amount of water. All of that AND it is not uncomfortable! My biggest concern with this backpack was the amount of straps (though I understand they are intended to give comfort, I had not experienced this previously). The straps on this backpack are perfectly placed so it gives the whole load a lighter feeling. The waist straps are adjustable and have small pockets on the strap to hold the extra strap length or some little items- this is a REALLY cool feature to me.This backpack is WAY more than a means of carrying hydration! It has 10 different sized pockets including the one that holds the water. There are small pockets, there are many easy to access pockets, and there are a couple more hidden pockets. The only thing that I would note as different, not necessarily bad in this case, is that the color blue is much darker in person than what shows on my computer screen. The color blue it IS, is very nice :)Overall, I am extremely happy with this product! If you are new to backpacking and are not sure if you want the addition of a hydration element, I say go for it! This is a great product and I have no hesitations about using it every time I hike.

Great design and holds a lot of gear
This is our third Gregory Pack! I got this one in green for my son who wanted a day pack that was lightweight and included some specific features. He wanted pockets on the hip belt and a spot to stow his sunglasses. It was also important that it have an air cushion between the pack and his back, as he didn't want to be dripping with sweat on long hikes. He has done two pretty serious day hikes with his new Citro - 9 and 12 miles. His verdict - the pack is so comfortable and lightweight that he hardly notices that he's wearing it. The 30-liter Citro is roomy enough for all his gear - extra clothing, camera equipment, and snacks. He loves that he can store his important stuff in the hip belt pocket like his bug spray, lip balm, and phone for taking quick photos. The hydration bladder is very easy to clean and hang up to dry, which is another useful feature. His only minor complaints - the zippered portion of the hip pockets are too small for his big hands, and the clip on the sternum strap is to small. These are minor details and in no way dealbreakers. This is an awesome pack. We have always been happy with Gregory products, and this is just another example of a fantastic design.
