If only you could buy the pole pruner head on its own
I bought this and the pole pruner at the same time. I did not realise it when I purchased then but the end handle on both is identical and there interchangeable. The pole pruner does not come with an extension pole as the saw does so with the saw, you can add an extension to the pruner - I guess that is really useful for anyone with large hedges or conifer trees to be cut back. I do wish Dewalt would offer the pruner head on its own as an add on to the saw - it would have some money and it is something offered in the US.The oil does have a tendency to leak out from the head - it would be worth emptying it out if not intending to use it for a while (especially if you have paid a lot for Dewalt oil - I bought oil for a quarter of the price.Incidentally from looking around for an extra pole I have seen that the pole fittings/pole itself is identical to Black & Decker branded pole saw (not what I really want to see - I know Dewalt is a Black & Decker brand but I do not want **** & Decker)!Overall this has been ideal for cutting back some tall trees in my garden without resorting to hiring in a tree surgeon.

Another Dewalt Tool
Already have the Dewalt batteries so it was a no brainier at under £200It cuts thick branches well - the pole is a bit too flexible for me when the extension kit is fitted - I already have STIHL products which are a lot more robust but are 3x the price - but it did the job.I had to buy some chainsaw oil as this is needed for the oil reservoir - overall a good purchase

It was like a child on Christmas Day
You know the feeling as a child on Christmas Day you’ve waited for the present you hoped you would get and there it is problem no batteries!!! In this case I knew I was not getting a battery but I never thought about chain oil dewalt could at least have given me a small sample so that I could of at least had a small play with the new toy ( well not me actually i am now in a wheelchair but my daughter and son-in-law were ready to use it ) so the proper review will have to wait but it looks a good well made product like all dewalt goods I now have the hedge clipper and the Strimmer

Trimming without the hassle
Light enough to manoeuvre to cross branches in the middle of the tree. Saved a lot of time messing about with ladders and no risk of falling.Only thing to be aware of it needs to be brought up to speed just off a branch before contacting it or it will just stop. As soon as I realised it went smoothly from that point onwards.

Superb, except the leaking chain oil

Brilliant bit of kit
Brilliant tool. A mini chain saw on a massive pole. I’ve been using it a for several hours to cut through lots of branches. Also tried to see how much it could manage on a clean cut and it happily did a 5” trunk. I have the DW pole hedge cutter and the extension pole works with that also which is a bonus. Note: this is a bare product, so you need the battery. You also need some chainsaw oil and will need to buy a chainsaw sharpener to keep it working fine over time. Other than that it’s safe, quiet and powerful. It’s easier to handle than I thought, but I do feel like I deserve a beer after using it all afternoon.
