Q: Can this stick on the same surface as the painting and still be able to accurately point towards my frame?

No, it wouldn’t be able to do that. It’s not long enough from the wall. We put ours on the ceiling and pointed it to the frame.

Q: Can one remote control more than one set? As in if I install 8 of these within close proximity of each other (like in a walk-in wardrobe).

I've turned on 2 at the same time, but I don't think the signal is "wide" enough to turn on 8.

Q: If you use the tape, how do you remove the light?

the base of the light has the tape...stick the base to what you want and the attach the body.....The tape sucks though...it doesn't last and will fall off the ceiling....just be prepared...I used the 3M picture hook removable tape stuck to the tape...which has worked well.

Q: what are the dimensions of the base?

Base is about 4 1/2 inches wide all around.
