These shears were recommended from a video tutorial about making pinecone flowers. It's a 2-pc set of needlenose type & the pruning shear type.They worked very well for my project. I was able to cut many flowers for a framed bouquet for my door.All metal except for the handle covering. The locking mechanism on the shears is a bit fussy but I'm able to get them closed. The pliers have a loop on the bottom that helps hold the pliers shut. I kind of wish the shears had that same feature. But so far the shears are staying closed.Overall, I recommend these shears for light duty projects. I'm not sure how they would hold up for pruning bushes and tougher jobs but I have larger ones in my garden shed for that. These worked great for also cutting the stick stems for my bouquet. I was very impressed with the needle nose ones which have some "teeth" on the edges and were able to grab hold of the insides of the cones to do the first cut.Great value.

I bought these mainly for the larger shears. I was surprised at how clean they cut. Thanks to the design, I didn’t have to apply as much force. The attached photo shows a cut of bamboo both at the ends and at the knot. See how cleanly they are cut. I bought them at the same time as another $30 pair of steel shears. I think I’m gonna return those and buy another set of these.

I've tried all types of scissors to loppers and nothing cut through pinecones for crafts as easily as these.The second pair trims well.

I bought my first set about 3 years ago. Since then I have gifted at least 6 sets to gardening friends and family. This purchase is my back up set for when my husband mislays mine. During the growing season my clippers get used and washed daily. So far, no rust, the blades are still nice and sharp, no degradation in function, and they still look new. I have retired far more expensive clippers because these work better and are nicer to use. For the price these can't be beat.

Got these cutters for the wife, they have a great price. She loves them a lot.

I am a person who constantly loses tools in my jungle of a yard. It would be traumatic for me to lose, say, Felco pruners. i like this price so I can get replacements from time to time.These cut well enough, but the spring falls off, which is really annoying. I am not such a serious gardener that i need expensive tools.
