do they break easily?

I was supposed to receive the 45 scrunchies advertised but instead only received 44. There were only 44 scrunchies in the pack.

Are the scrunchies thick and sturdy, or are they thin and flimsy?

Thick and sturdy. Two twists around a pony and my hair stays in place. I know what you mean though. With some scrunches I have to twist them super tight to get the hold I want

Word of caution on the sizing..

Pretty colours, and very soft. However, I thought I was buying a pack of standard size (for an adult) scrunchies. I've included a photo of the size difference between my normal sized black scrunchie, and the red scrunchie from this pack. These are half the expected size. If you're looking for kids' scrunchies, or just something smaller to use for a sectional ponytail, these are great. If you want something to hold all of an adults hair back, these aren't large enough or elastic enough to hold a grown woman's (my) hair for long. For reference, I'm speaking as someone with straight, thin hair.
