I was so excited to buy these candy bars!Allow me to digress slightly; I was born in 1985, and my grandmother used to work at this ancient local drugstore (it had been around since the early 1900s if not longer, called La Mesa Drug). Every day when she would finish her exhausting 8hr shift (She was already pretty old by the time I came around), she would have them put a single candy bar on her tab at work. It was the BarNone.She would then walk the few miles to our house, flop down onto the couch, absolutely exhausted from her day. After a moment, she would look at me with the warmest of smiles and pass me the candy bar, and together we would sit and talk about the day while sharing this simple treat. This candy bar, as silly as it sounds, created a tangible memory that has embedded itself deep within my brain.The BarNone phased out of production in 1997, around the same time my grandmother's health had begun to decline. My grandmother has long since passed, and I never shared a lot with her in terms of outings and adventures. She worked every day until her health had declined and her Alzheimers had kicked in. One of my greatest memories was eating this candy bar with her, while she spoke of days long since gone and simpler times.This candy bar doesn't taste copy exact, but I wouldn't want it to. I've grown older, and I can tell this version isn't quite as sweet, and in my eyes, it brings it to my current liking. I love it, and every time I eat one, I remember those moments with my grandmother, and I have since shared the love of these candy bars with my nieces who never knew her, my wife, my coworkers, and I even brought my parents and siblings all backdown memory lane as well.Thank you Iconic candy - for bringing people back to their childhood, back to simpler days, if only for a moment.

The whole experience of discovering these were available, on Amazon, for a fair price, arriving fast, the look of the box/ packaging, opening the one, tasting it (yes it’s the same recipe- couldn’t get any closer- don’t need to get any closer), sharing them with family, friends, and coworkers, and writing this review in hopes to keep this available forever, has given me a huge dopamine kick that I am beyond grateful for! Thank you to Hershey for selling the recipe, Iconic candy for being smart enough to make them, and the other people who wrote reviews that made me feel like giving it a try was worth it!

The last time I ordered these they were delicious and made in the USA, these are made in TURKEY and taste disgusting! The wafer smells odd and the taste and texture are bad! You advertise them as made in the USA and they are not! The chocolate wasn’t glossy and it was not sweet. The overall product is horrible and not worth a try at any price. I could tell something was off with the cardboard box and then the individual packaging of the bars itself. DO NOT BUY these they are very substandard in every way!

From the first bite, I was transported back in time to my teen years, when there was no other candy bar for me other than BarNone, I use to save my baby-sitting money and buy them by the case load. After they were (I'm not even going to mention the recipe change that ruined it) discontinued, all I could do was remember and dream about tasting one of them again one day. When I found out there was a company out there making them again, I was happy, but also a little skeptical whether or not they could capture the taste from my youth, well they nailed it! After over twenty years I finally have my all-time fav candy bar back! As long as they are being made, I will be buying them, you have a customer for life!
