I love these but the do require a lot of batteries and the peppercorn needs replacing often

The media could not be loaded.  We have been using salt and pepper mills for quite a few years, but have been using the type that you have to turn the top for milling. These sometimes are difficult to turn and require two hands for operation. So, using them while cooking is cumbersome since you can't stir food and operate these mills at the same time. When I saw electric salt and pepper mills being used in a restaurant, I knew I had to have a set.When I found this set of mills, I knew they were the ones I wanted to try. I chose the stainless (silver) set, and love that the tops are brushed stainless rather than a shiny stainless that shows finger prints. It was also important to me that the grinding mechanisms on these mills are ceramic rather than metal since metal ones corrode and rust too quickly - especially when using them for Celtic Sea salt that is moist.These mills light with a white light rather than a blue one that some others have. With the white light, it is so much easier to see how much salt or pepper you are putting on your food. The glass jars of the mills hold a large amount of salt and pepper, so they won't have to be refilled very often. I very much appreciate that the openings of the jars are much larger than other mills we have had, which makes refilling them so much easier. Another great feature is the ability to change the coarseness of the grind by turning the knob on the top of the mill. The last picture shows a course grind of pepper, and a fine grind.The only disappointment was that these mills require 6 AAA batteries each, and I didn't have enough AAA batteries available. Although a lot of batteries are required initially, they should last a very long time considering the amount of time they would be used.These mills would also be very useful for spices that come in seed form such as coriander, cumin, allspice, and other spices that can be bought in seed form. . I currently buy cumin seed and grind it myself for freshness. By using one of these mills, I could use fresh ground cumin without having to grind it separately. All in all, I am extremely happy with these mills and would recommend them.UPDATE 10/02/20:We have had this set of salt and pepper mills for over 15 months, and use them daily on the table and for cooking. Although I was initially concerned about the number of batteries is uses, as yet the batteries are still going strong and have not had to be replaced. Both mills still supply consistent grinds and have not needed to be cleaned because of clogging. I am so happy with these mills as they are much easier to use than the ones having a top that needs to be tested and the one-hand operations is wonderful when cooking foods that need to be stirred. I also love the light that allows me to see how much salt and/or pepper I am adding my our foods.I will update this review if my opinion changes and to report longevity of these mills. I hope this review was helpful for you in deciding on mills that would be best for you.

Initially, I gave this product a 1 star review because it stopped working after 4 months. Upon seeing my review, the sellers immediately (politely, professionally) reached out to me to reconsider my review if they would ship me a new set of grinders, which I agreed to. (They were concerned that something might’ve been damaged in the original set during shipping, and wanted to make it right.) At this point, a couple months later, the replacement shakers are working great. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars from me is because I feel like (compared to other sets I’ve owned), that there’s not a whole lot of torque while grinding either salt or pepper, and I also have to shake them every now and then to get them to feed more pepper corns or salt granules to the grinding chamber. With that said, however, I do enjoy the way the look and the consistency of the grind. Hopefully they last longer than 4 months this time.

Best thing we ever did was get these to replace our hand turn grinders! Easiest way to grind pepper and salt! Got these right before making a large roast, which we wanted a nice crust of pepper on, and this made it so easy. Great buy! Does take a LOT of batteries!

Really liked the set and how well they worked. The pepper grinder portion looked like it was pushed up weird and breaking within a couple weeks. I managed to fix that and it works mostly fine. The salt grinder however just won’t charge at all. It’ll show a red light before going white but hasn’t worked since. Won’t even respond to the power button.EDIT:After leaving my initial review the seller reached out to me to decide between a replacement or a refund. I liked the set when they were working so I chose a replacement. They sent them out within a few days and they have been working great so far and charging. I appreciate the seller working with me and have changed my review to reflect them making a defective unit right.

The basket is from Amazon also. The four spice mills have three different types of salts, and one has a pepper blend. A considerable variety of flavors. We take them inside after every meal, since a sudden squall might soak them. They are electric, even if they seem to hold a charge for ever. Super useful!!! Easy, just click the power button, which stays active for ten minutes, and just turn the top down over your brightly illuminated food. Your other hand is free for whatever. Enjoy!!! I sure do!

It works well, except that it can’t fine grind. Also there is no marker to let you know if you’re using the fine or coarse setting, you have to play with it a little.I used one grinder to grind pepper, and it did fine I guess, and the other to grind himalayan salt, which the finer I could get it to grind was granules ( the size of turbinado sugar).Hopefully it will last.Overall I’m very satisfied, I would buy again, especially if on sale.

Motor seems a little weak but it’s working and both work. These are easier and Mor comfortable for me to use than a manual grinder. Battery life is dependent on the quality of batteries you buy. The grind is adjustable. I put peppercorns in both of mine, so I can’t say how versatile it is with salt or other spices.

Loved these salt and pepper grinders, however uni one has stopped working after only having it for two months. I tried new batteries and cleaning it but no joy. Is there a way to get a replacement?

The media could not be loaded.  I'd been looking for a good pepper grinder for a long time and found this. I'm using it for about 4 weeks now and it works great. Nice design, perfect size and easy to use just with one hand!
