The perfect all around shoe
I have been wearing Merrell mocs for about 15 years now and ALL of them are still in good shape. For a seven month trip to Europe during the winter I brought only one pair of these "shiver mocs" which are lined and incredibly comfortable and soft inside. Add to it that they are water proof and I can only say they are the perfect all around shoe for me. Long walks, hiking, driving, office, in any weather. I have a second unused pair on the shelf just in case Merrell stops making them.

All I can say about these shoes is, "wow"!
Of course I had to put them on immediately, and I was very surprised and pleased that they fit perfectly. I wore them for about ten hours yesterday without any discomfort, which is amazing for new shoes ordered on the internet. They were/are kinda stiff, but they are not the least bit tight or restrictive to my feet, and the stiffness will work it's way out as I wear them more. I'm also very impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship. The soles are also thick, and they have a nice tread pattern for good footing in snow.Only time will tell, but it seems like a good quality shoe that I can wear to work or out in the yard in any weather, and they will hopefully last for a few years. We're supposed to get a lot of rain this weekend. So I'll get to try them out in wet weather soon. The best part now is that I lucked out on the size I selected (actually, the only size 12 available when I ordered), because they are so comfortable, and fit so well right out of the box. I'm hard on shoes. If they make it through the winter and keep my feet dry, I'll get some Merrell shoes for summer too. I know that everyone is different, but for me, the initial impression is great!UPDATE 6/16/19 ...I've had these for a year and a half now, and these shoes are just as comfortable as the first day I put them on. They also look just as good as the first day. I've worn them daily in mud, snow, rain, and sunshine. They remain waterproof, and comfortable. Best shoes I've ever owned.

Cheap Rubber Trim Mars an Otherwise-Perfect Shoe
I had a previous version of this shoe that I absolutely loved, and that lasted for 5+ years of fairly regular use. What with the Vibram sole, high-grade leather, Merrell quality, etc. So, when I ponied up for a new pair, I expected I'd be getting a new-and-slightly-improved version of the same. Not so! Within a few weeks of wear (maybe once or twice a week), the rubber trim just above the sole was starting to crack and show unsightly holes. Out of laziness, I didn't try to return them - life's too busy! I've just been frustrated and kept wearing them for events where it didn't matter how they look. Now, two years later, all of the rest of the shoe still looks great, but the rubber band that goes around the shoe is now tattered and torn all over. A fatal flaw in an otherwise fine shoe.

Get a size up and break them in. Otherwise--AWESOME!
Husband LOVES LOVES LOVES these shoes.First of all, let me disclose we are in Alaska. While he does use these for his IT/computer job, dress code might be a little more casual here than in the lower 48. They do have a very aggressive-looking tread and are quite casual-looking compared to some other moccasin style shoes I've seen.He usually wears a 12, bought a 13 and they fit well. Go up a size for sure! Also, if you are planning on wearing these at a desk job, you might want to consider that a waterproof, solid-leather shoe that is lined (it's called "SHIVER" for a reason, folks), could possibly be a bit warm for you. Hubby finds that in cold Alaska winters these are great and he LOVES that he doesn't have to worry about slipping and sliding, or changing shoes upon arrival at work.Hubby reported that they were VERY stiff upon arrival, and he had to break them in for about a week, suffering a bit of ankle pain to do so (they are heavy, and thick leather). He also reported, "Don't scuff your feet, they are so grippy that you will trip and fall!"Hope this helps. We love the shoe and would buy again. After breaking in period of 7-10 days he reports that they are the most comfortable "work" shoes in his extensive closet (yes, I married a shoe horse).

Doesn't follow Merrell sizing
I have 5 other pairs of different type Merrell shoes where I have found that the comfortable fit for me is ordering a half size smaller than I do in other shoes, but following that trend with this style shoe made it too small. It should be a good shoe for the purpose I want if I can get the right size.Returned 10.5 size and got 11.0. They fit fine. Very comfortable and warm.

Took the abuse for two years
Pretty much wore this shoe/boot every day in the fall/winter/spring for casual wear. Obviously in bad winter conditions I put on bigger boots, but for the most part just wore these. I work in maintenance for buildings, and I use this as my work shoe/boot also. It lasted me exactly two years and just now fell apart on me. Even as I slipped my feet in and out with out aggressively all the time, it kept its shape. I can't fault this shoe. It is stiff at first though, and I feel it probably needs to be. I'v have softer kinds like this, different brand, and after just a little bit of time, they do not provide the support, and more or less become a slipper to me, as they stretch and flop.I live in Minneapolis, so the shoe was subjected to lots of crappy weather. I will be replacing this with a very similar Merrell, one more for cold climates. It was my go to for nearly everything except summer and snow storms. Hope this helps.

Does what it says on the tin!
If like me you can't stand tying shoe laces and you enjoy a bit of all terrain walking then these shoes are the best I've come across to date.Amazingly comfortable no doubt as a result of the air cushion support. In fact I'm sad enough to have queued for the recent fruit based phone launch. After 6 hours other people in the queue were complaining about their feet aching - not me, I was fine, in fact I didn't notice any fatigue whatsoever.I also admit to wearing these on the golf course and it's been a joy not to come home with soggy feet, they sure are waterproof. In summary, great price, fantastically comfortable and waterproof, what else could you want?Note; like others have noted these are a smaller cut. I am normally a Uk size 10 and this is true of many brands I purchase, this is not the case with Merrell, I had to return these and get the 10.5 instead. Word of warning you will probably need to upsize by half a size to get the better fit.Enjoy people; these shoes are great (so much so I'm getting another pair for spares!

Nicely styled all weather shoe
Nicely styled all weather shoe. After initial difficulty I eventually wore them in such as to be reasonably comfy. I find the sides a tad too high under my ankles though which causes discomfort with sideways movements.

Merrell shoes
Great shoes unfortunately I needed a half size more and had to send them back.I thought if I used the size in my Merrell cross trainers would do but no just a wee bit tight.

Comfortable, style, warm
I bought this merrell after I saw them some time ago during a trip. I really like them, size feels true, I use them every day although spring is getting warm here and I start to feel that I might need a different shoe for summer.
