Complete Start Kit - just add engines and wadding
Hadn't fired a model rocket in over 30 years, so this looked like a good place to start over. This kit is an amazing value, since it includes a launch pad, a launch ignition system, and two ready-to-fly rockets. All you have to do is buy some wadding and rocket motors, and you are on your way.We took these two rockets to the park and launched six times without any mishap. The launcher and launch system worked great, and the rockets were recovered safely each time. We only tried A and B engines, but plan to try some Cs next time.Summary:1. No assembly required for the rockets-- just attach the recovery 'chute and insert a rocket engine.2. Launch pad was easy to assemble (5 minutes)3. The launch ignition system worked flawlessly4. All instructions were easy to read and follow5. Lots of fun!Advice: start with the A8-3 engines. The rocket will only ascend about 400 feet, and will be easy to see and recover. We then tried B4-4 engines, and the rocket seemed to travel twice as high.

Easy to get started. Bring tape!
Rocket launch setup takes 15 minutes from when you open the box, very easy. Don't forget to separatly buy recovery wadding paper, engines and batteries. Two small complaints: the parachute tore easily on first launch (bring scotch tape) and the rubber band detached from the inside of the rocket on the 2nd launch (bring duct tape). However, the rocket survived the 500+ ft drop to grass without a parachute. It goes very high with B engines.

Easy to Assemble and Works as Promised!
I bought this to share the experience I had as a child firing off rockets with my son. He absolutely loved it and I was thrilled. The rockets worked really well. Pushing that button on the launch controller is a bit of a beast at times however. All in all a great purchase.

Great way to get hooked on rocketry!
These rockets will go out of site on a C6-5 engine. Recommend initial launches on A or B engines (1/2A)is actually not sufficient to get more than a few feet off the launch pad. While not supplied, I strongly advise attaching the parachute to the shock cord with a smaller fishing swivel so if it gets tangle it's easily removed.

Great rocket set
I bought my kids an Estes Rocket two years ago for Christmas. They got a lot of great use out of the one, but it was pretty beat and the parachute no longer worked well. For their birthday, they asked for red and blue rockets. This fit the bill! Great price, two rockets and minimal assembly. The only down side -- both were lost after the first launch! my sons put their most powerful engines in these and the soared incredibly high. However, though the day was almost windless, the rockets could not be found. So I bought another set since the price was so reasonable and now they have three launching pads. We may need to invest in a tracker, though those things are the price of about 5 or 6 of these sets -- so maybe not.

Estes Rockets have been great for over 30 years
This is a simple pair of rockets and launcher set which is easy to assemble and fly with young grandchildren - little to assemble and grandpa and/or dad set engines and initiators for launch - kids count down, hit the launch button, and retrieve the rocket as it returns to earth under a parachute. I launched Estes rocket with my children 30+ years ago and now with their children and my other grandchildren. It brings the inner child out of us all to see the kids enjoy the launch and recovery of these small rockets that fly 300+ feet into the air. I highly recommend Estes rockets for kids of all ages - with proper adult help/supervision. **Remember to buy the engines & initiators separately (they come together in packages of 3) as a new one is required for each launch (buy a couple of extra engines as this year for the first time I experience a two "dud" engines in a group of nine engines. **

Great beginner rockets
Perfect rockets for the beginner. Come mostly assembled so you can go launch nearly as soon as they arrive. Let the fun begin.Durable too so you need not worry about younger kids accidentally breaking a fin off. Be sure to buy the launch kit if you don't already have it.
