Beautifully illustrated Bible stories for ages 9+
This is a beautifully illustrated book of Bible stories. Unlike some illustrated Bibles that have childish, almost cartoonish art, the art in this Bible is tasteful. Children who are not strong readers can engage with the pictures while an older person reads the chapter aloud. Initially, I bought this for nephews who range from three to seven years old. Now I think they are a little too young for it, although perhaps the seven-year-old could pay attention for an entire chapter if a parent reads it aloud at bedtime. I think this book would be excellent for people from nine years old to 90.

Esta hermoso!
The media could not be loaded.

Jesus loves the little children, all little children of the world
Beautiful illustrations. I'm looking forward to reading and sharing with my grandchildren.

Beautiful Catholic Bible Stories
This book is gorgeous. I got it as a First Communion present for my son, and now he gets to bring it to Mass every weekend to read at church. It has many beautiful full-page drawings, and almost every page has a picture of some sort. It's not a full-text Bible; rather, it has stories, told in a narrative, with the corresponding books and verses listed under the title of each. It makes for fascinating reading for a young Catholic - allowing him to actually understand and remember the stories without having them too simplified like in other children's bibles. In the Gospel section, each of the stories lists the corresponding verses from all of the Gospels in which it appears, so you can see that the same story appears in multiple Gospels. There are also a handful of the most common Catholic prayers in the back. All in all, this is a wonderful Bible for young readers.

Beautiful Bible, But Caution for Young Children...
I own many bibles, several are for children. This is a very nice bible with unique and beautiful illustrations, but as some others have shared, a few illustrations may be scary for young children. As an adult, I find them fine - they even have an ancient biblical feel to them. IMHO, they are not suitable for very young children, it's a parents decision. Even though the bible is considered one of the most violent books, young children actually seeing angry faces and violent images aren't a good idea if you want your child not to be afraid or turned off by the bible. I know kids today see far more graphic violence on TV and playing video games, but as a parent, I would want to know this before ordering. I attached 2 illustrations so parents can decide for themselves. jmhoThat being said, I am keeping my copy because like I already said it is a beautiful bible, and being an adult I can handle the illustrations too :)

Beautiful
I recently took a mission trip to Kenya Africa. The children in the village that we visited asked for bibles so I started looking for books that could be orderedAnd sent to them. I purchased many copies so I bought used ones. When the books arrived, I was blown away at how beautiful they were. They were in pristine condition. Lovely. Bought for multiple aged people. For children of different ages and for adults also because they speak and read English in school in Nairobi but it isn’t their first language.

At LAST!!
I love the pictures in this children's bible. They draw you into the story but still leave room for the words to complete the picture in the mind. I chose it for my children ages 5 and 2. It is written as a bible rather than someone's commentary on the bible. The translation is truly catholic. For example in the story of Adam and Eve it reads, "I will put a strong festering hatred between you and the woman, between your offspring and hers. She will crush your head and you will bruise her heel." No gender neutral stuff. The language is simple enough to follow easily without being so simple that the child will not learn new vocabulary from it. Thank you Amy Welborn. My search has ended.

Your child can learn more from YouTube Bible readings
The most common stories of The Bible are summarized and well written but there is a lack of depth. It is a mini-lesson in speed dial mode. I also do not find the illustrations at all appealing. The description makes this sound like an in-depth Bible that children, teens and adults will enjoy. It is not.
