Real Life Situations - Heartfelt
Every book Ashley Farley has written, I think is the best and although I do have a few favorites, I believe every book she writes really is the best. Life on Loan falls into that "best" category! Farley has a gift of writing about women and the various phases and circumstances of life. When I am reading one of her books I feel like I am part of the story and can often feel the emotions of the characters in the book. This book is about Lena and Olivia, two middle-aged women who were friends in college and about 30 years later run into each other at an airport where both have a lay-over.. As they begin to catch up, it becomes apparent they each are running away from some difficult life circumstances and as a result, an important decision is made to cancel the remaining leg of their trips and instead swap houses for a month. They take a selfie to capture the moment with the plan to take another one when they meet up a month later. Olivia heads to Lena's cabin in the Northern Neck of Virginia and Lena will spend the month in Olivia's waterfront condo in Charleston. The new friends they make, the issues they encounter and new adventures, along with the changes that take place in both Lena and Olivia will keep you turning the pages. The two women who take a selfie at the end of the month aren't the same women in the first selfie. Loved this book!

Wonderful story!
A chance meeting in an airport changes the life of two old friends. After they decide to escape from their current lives and inhabit the world of the other for a short time, both women learn so much about themselves and what they need to do to make their lives more meaningful.Once again, Ashley has written a beautiful story with wonderful, real, and likable characters whose lives are filled with reflection, growth, determination, humor, love, and acceptance. I enjoyed witnessing Lena's and Olivia's transformation into their new normal.I have loved all of Ashley's stories and each one becomes my new favorite. Life on Loan is one you don't want to miss!

Life on Loan
I’ve not read any of Ashley Farley’s books before but I LOVED this book. Even though each chapter went back and forth between one of the three main characters, it was not confusing to follow like some are. I liked all three main characters and loved to see the growth in each. It was hard to put this book down; it was an easy read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

New beginnings
This author’s work often speaks to me but none as much as this novel. The women in this novel are at a point in their lives that they are not content but don’t really know what they want. With their hearts in their throats, they switch homes to pursue some dreams. Reading this book has given me the courage to challenge myself. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

"Life on Loan" Will Sweep You In
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the first sentence. I drew me in. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't sleep last night and ended up finishing the last 50% of the book. I'm a fan of life at a crossroads theme in books, especially women's fiction and in the age group that is presented. The characters are in my own age group, take about 10 years older on my part. I thought that the character of Lena was so true to life. A lost soul and wondering how she got there. I've known a couple of women in long term marriages that have felt the same way. Olivia too, was very vulnerable and for her, it was easy to get drawn into other people's drama. I myself, have been there, done that and bought that T-shirt too. So, her character was easy to understand. You just have to walk away, as she did. It's I've known a couple of Jade's as well. Not to spoil what's in the novel, just suffice to say, there are a lot of controlling and not so nice people out there. I've know 'em too. I liked every single character except for a couple of them and when, make it a when, you read Ashley Farley's novel, you'll see which characters that you just wanted to slap into next week!Give yourself a treat and get swept into "Life on Loan". It's a good story about possibilities.

Stories women can relate to
Ashley is such a talented writer.I can relate to the situations and problems the characters find themselves faced with in her books since they are so realistic. Her stories are face paced and once I start reading one of her books I find it difficult to put down.I enjoy her writing and since I've read all of her books I was anxiously waiting for Life on Loan to be released.I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommended it to my friends. Now once again I find myself in a holding pattern waiting for her next release.

Poignant, Thought provoking, Wonderful .
Another great book by Ashley Farley. This one resonated with me because there have definitely been times when I wanted to leave everything behind and just run away for awhile. Very eloquently written and a stay- up-all-night page turner. Ashley is a magnificent writer who truly understands her readers and always leaves us eagerly awaiting the next book.

starts off well but disappointments
i enjoyed the first chapters but felt it became very predictable as i got further along. its easier to move on in life for these two women as they find love with wealthy handsome men. too much is made of what people are wearing and it became a little tedious. disappointing last few chapters where its all too cosy and predictable and all too easy for the characters.

Good, light read.
This book started off quite promisingly and held my interest throughout. There were enough small twists to keep me engaged and the characters felt genuine. The ending was easy to predict but I felt it was a bit rushed and lacked the depth of detail seen in the rest of the story.

Will gladly read other author’s books
Loved the book, although fiction, characters very human and realistic. Really never a dull moment, good pace of action and Charleston can only be great as a background site
