End of An Era
I loved Ultimate Spider-man for years. It was a fresh take on Spider-man. It was familiar but new at the same time. This book was a pretty good read. Peter is being trained by other superheroes so he can do better as Spider-man, but Norman OSborn and the Sinister Six have other plans. The thing I don't like about this story is the fact that they spoiled the ending months before the first chapter even came out. Don't just advertise that your next story is called "Death of Spider-man." Sure, people might have just scoffed at it and thought, "I doubt they're actually going to kill him" But because of the title, it wasn't a shock when it happened.I'm glad Peter died heroically, defending the people he cared for from Green Goblin (more than I can say for the wimpy death Peter had in Amazing Spider-man 700). But what I'm not glad about it the sole reason they did it in the first place. They have this rushed death story that is incomplete unless you also get the Avengers vs Ultimate book to go along with it. But what I'm really upset about is the replacement Spider-man. People will yell, "you're just a racist." It's not a race thing to me. It's a lame thing. I hate when they kill off a character just for the sake of replacing them. I don't care what race Miles Morales is. I just care that he's NOT PETER PARKER! I read Spider-man for Peter Parker. NOt just for the name, costume, and powers. But because I enjoy seeing Peter struggle under the burdens of carrying the responsibility that comes with being Spider-man.I gave this a 2 because it's a rushed story. I'm glad Bagley came back, but things happened too fast. It's not fleshed out like every Ultimate Spider-man story that came before it. There's no character development except, Peter's alive one moment, then dead the next. I don't like that the death was spoiled by Marvel months before it happened. When I pick up a comic book, I begin reading the let myself be surprised by anything that's in the book. If they hadn't have spoiled it, I would have read to the end and thought, "Peter's dead? Holy crap. I can't believe they killed him!" Instead, it was more of a "I wonder how they're going to kill him."

Amazing. Sensational. Spectacular.
The end of Peter Parker's story was everything I'd hoped it would be. Having recent re-read the entire series from the beginning, I can honestly say this finale didnt feel like a gimmick at all. It felt, while sad, like an ending the characters had earned. It's well-written, well thought out, and sets up some incredible moments in the stories to follow. I highly recommend this book, but with the caveat that you should start at the beginning and work your way up to it.You did great, Peter. We'll miss you.

An end or a beginnig?
I have not read any of the Ultimate Spiderman comics up to this point, and now wish that I had. I wanted to read this because Spiderman is my favorite superhero. Peter Parker is a good character, and I love how he is treated with respect even in the Ultimate universe. I think now I will go back and try to read Ultimate Spiderman up to this, and beyond. This is a nice little collection of the last few issues in this arc. I think it is sufficient for the story. I may even get the other, more expensive, version that has a few more issues to pad the story out a bit. I think It should be an essential read for any Spiderman fan. Get this if the other is a bit too pricey for you.

Great stuff!
I was an avid Spidey fan for much of my childhood and young adulthood. Hearing about Peter Parker dying made this a must read. It seemed a little simpler than I would have liked. Peter has been hurt more in the past and lived. This time however, he is overwhelmed and unable to withstand multiple villians attacking him. I was a little disappointed but it was still interesting and somewhat emotional to watch a childhood hero actually die. Its definitely worth getting and reading!

A GOOD ALTERNATIVE STORY.
When I saw this book its cover got my attention for 1 or 2 minutes. The book contains some amazing painting concepts inside and I really liked them. The outcome is not bad, however, I thought the Peter Parker's death would be pretty different and more dramatic. You can find some surprises and let me tell you that Spider-Man isn't the only one who dies during the action. We can find many other Marvel characters, heroes and anti-heroes and besides, someone made a huge comeback to try to stop Spidey's efforts to defend his family and friends.I liked this issue, it has suspense from the beginning and I had to read the whole story the same day because this is one of those stories that doesn't have a happy ending.

Bye bye Spidey
Although I didn't follow Ultimate Spiderman closely, this is a well written and heart tugging story. Its difficult to watch as one of your favorite characters is cut down in front of you. Well worth the read!

Underwhelming end to a fantastic series
I think Ultimate Spider-Man is one of the greatest Marvel series ever, B.M. Bendis is truly a genius (check out his awesome Powers series if you haven't already!)This is another high quality installment in the series but to be honest as a conclusion to such an amazing run it left me wanting.Bendis' writing is snappy and engaging as always and it was great to have Bagley back to finish what he started. That wasn't the problem. From the title of the book it's not a spoiler to say that this is where Parker bites the dust. As with any popular comic book series(or TV show) which has run for a long time, to try and give it a satisfying ending in just one 'episode' is virtually impossible. As with the last episode of Lost etc, there are many threads of the story which are not tied up in a perfect bow. I guess one of the main reasons I was unsatisfied with the ending is that I didn't see why it had to end at all!I almost felt that this volume changes the tone of the entire series. The moral of the story now seems to be "If you get super powers then for God's sake don't become a super hero or this is what will happen". It turns out Parker really was out of his depth all this time and probably lucky to have survived this long.Oh, and the "Ultimate Spider-Man Super Special #1" tacked on at the end after you've just seen Parker's untimely death was unnecessary and felt completely disjointed. It is drawn by about a hundred different artists, all taking a couple of pages each. A nice idea but it came off as filler, epecially when what you actually want to see is the fall-out of Parkers's demise, how did it effect all the other supporting characters? This is an absolutely essential purchase to complete the collection if you have the rest (obviously), just don't expect to be happy when you get to the last page!

Too bad the title spoils the content!
Good story and arc, but too oversold and over-dramatic.It's too bad that the volume already tells Spiderman gets killed, so there is no surprise and you start reading the first issue already knowing what is going to happen :-( Huge spoiler! The art is good.

Going down swinging, HARD
This much action crammed into five issues does not seem possible. I mean its page after page after page of bad@$$, heart pounding, can't wait to turn the next page action. Bringing Mark Bagley the original artist back for the final story arc was the best decision Marvel could have made, he executes every page perfectly. While reading Ultimate Peter Parker's last stand your heart WILL pound with every blow he takes to see if its his last. HOW MUCH MORE CAN HE TAKE!? will be screaming in your mind. Some hard truths come out in this book but it just adds to the excitement. Buy this book, BUY IT! I'm not just gonna sit here and recommend it. I'm telling you to BUY IT!
