So much better than the HD $20 version!
Holy cow this thing is awesome!our old one: We purchased a smaller version at HD for $20 last year when we had to remove a 5x8 space of tile for a pantry. My husband's back was killing him from bending over in practically a hunched kneel and the project took him 3 days of backbreaking labor. And it made so much dust! the cement glue stuff didn't come off at all and the cement was left uneven with many dings left in it. It was horrible. The blade was more like a dull thick piece of metal and the handle was only about 5 inches. The new one: We used the 6x12 inch scraper that we bought from amazon the day we received it. We had to remove 6 1 foot tiles to expand our kitchen cabinets. I half way expected the tile scraper to be as big as a pain and mess as our previous one, but thankfully, I was wrong. In about 10 minutes or less me husband was done. The tile pieces came out with no real effort and the "tile grout glue" was easily removed and the cement was left smooth. My husband was so thrilled that he removed even more tiles, mainly to see how long it would take to do a 5x8 space as to compare to our previous experience. He was done in less than 20 minutes with the whole project, and his back didn't hurt at all! It is wonderful that the blade part is sharper and wider, leaves a cleaner "cut" on the cement. The handle is very long as well so you do not have to bend over awkwardly. There was little dust as well because the pieces came off in pieces and not dusty shards. We plan to redo our tile in the next few months, and I was worried that the project would make living in our home unbearable based off of the first tile removing experience that we had- we were planning on at least 1 month just removing the tile and dust everywhere; I was considering temporarily moving in with my parents while my husband worked on the project! Now with our new tool, however, I know that the project wont be so horrible and the removing process will be greatly reduced.Thank you for making such an wonderful product.

Worth every penny!
The media could not be loaded. I'm generally not one to write reviews, but this tool was worth it. I've been chipping away with a manual scraper for a couple of weeks removing 80 year old tile glued down with the old black adhesive. A few would come up easily, but most were there to stay and took a lot of manual effort, even with a good ram scraper. I picked this up and put in on a Dewalt cordless 10.5 Joule hammer drill. This cut through the old tile with ease and accomplished more in 2 hours than in 2 days with the hand scraper. While this tool isn't inexpensive, it costs a lot less than the chiropractor bill and the pain med's.One note, make sure the bolts are tight after using it a while; With the vibration of using it, they can loosen up, which can result in a sheared bolt.

Best SDS-Max tile scraper on the market. I call it the "Tile Assassin."
Hands down this is one of if not the best SDS-Max floor scrapers out there. I've removed hundreds of square feet of tile, linoleum, etc., and I'm still using the original blade. Don't abuse it and it should last a long time. I've lightly resharpened once with a hand file. Arguably it's not the most comfortably rig having to bend over attached to a 35-lb Makita 2" AVT demo hammer, but it does do a great job of removing flooring. And unlike a dedicated tile or linoleum scraping machine, the SDS-Max hammer (when properly equipped) can drill, drive ground rods, chip, demo, etc. So this accessory is just one more useful tool to compliment contractors' kit. This is on my truck and I wouldn't dare remove tile without it. Compare it to hammering with a chisel for and hour: night and day. This scraper is a beast. I paid over $300 for mine, so under $200 here is a steal providing the quality hasn't changed. As for bolts wearing out?? What are you people doing to your tools???

B E E F Y!
I had to swallow hard before committing to buying this "bit" for nearly $200. Having never seen one in person, the manufacturer's photos don't do it justice. It is BEEFY. Seems expensive for what it is, until you realize how much time it's going to save you and how much easier it's going to make the job. I had a very large open kitchen/dining area with heavy clay tiles on top of thin set concrete (about 1/2" of mortar with 2 layers of mesh, and nails everywhere). I rented an 11# Makita rotary hammer and a 3" chisel bit top get up the clay tile and then BOUGHT a 6.6# hammer to use with this bit. I'm glad I did. It's still somewhat slow going, primarily due to there being nails everywhere (this stops dead in its tracks at every nail) but once I got into a groove it wasn't too bad and it goes all the way down to the OSB. Will chew up the OSB if you're not careful but as long as you keep the angle low, it works fine.

Quality Counts
This chisel tool did everything I needed it to do on a residential tile removal job. I considered a cheaper knock-off but am glad I spent the extra money on the original item. The quality parts and materials handle the abuse of the job with ease.

Good tool
Working extremely well to remove mastic and thinset from a subfloor with a Hilti TE50. I was surprised it came with low grade bolts, they are holding up but may replace them with high grade bolts just as a precaution. However, I learned a couple of things from using it. You have to keep the blade sharpened as you use it, depending on the material it can dull quickly. I kept a belt sander handy, and it only takes a couple of minutes to fix the edge. It also gets HOT during use. For the thinset removal I had a spray bottle of water to help soften the material and keep the dust down. I also kept the bolts/head area sprayed. Overheating the metal may be a major cause of the complaints about broken bolts.
