So far, so good!
The old tuning machines on my Ibanez were becoming difficult to turn so I replaced them with these. I enjoy modding my guitars and these new tuning machines feel pretty great. They were fun and easy to replace. I might replace some of the tuning machines on my other guitars.

Guitar looks like its worth $100 more, plays about the same
*Skip to the end if you're not interested in specifics, this rambles* I got these machine heads for a "BC" (not rich, just BC) beginner guitar with really cheap junky tuners that held their tune well enough for me. In other words, I'm not fussy about tuning, so I wasn't really worried about getting machine heads that stay in tune forever. My criteria for good machine heads are as follows: Stay in tune over night, don't go wildly out of tune while I'm playing, look good, and don't require tons of turning when restringing. These machine heads satisfy all my requirements. Basically, these tuners are not going to be worse than the ones you already have on your guitar, so if you just want to spruce up your guitar for cheap and are not concerned with having perfect tune all the time, you should be happy with these unless they arrive broken. (On that note, I would like to point out that I was a bit careless putting these tuners in and easily could have broken them if they were junkier than they are, so don't go crazy, but these things aren't that fragile. They are heavy and pretty sturdy). I did have to widen the holes (you NEED a 13/32 drill bit, but they aren't expensive or hard to find) but the guitar I put them on had its own weird parts so I think these tuners should fit a normal guitar like Squire or Epiphone. In closing, these will better or the same as the tuners you already have, but if you want Grover reliability, get Grover tuners. Don't expect to pay $12 for Grover quality tuners.

They're Alright
These are okay for playing around with for home builds and partscasters and such. I wouldn't consider them an upgrade for anything. They hold tuning alright, but there's a little play in the gears, and don't tune very responsively for finer adjustments.

they tune. too much tuna
I hate stock squier or knockoff strat tuners. especially the modern stop sign looking boxy ones. so if I can't replace with real vintage kluson style I get these and I don't end up staring at my tuners while I play and thinking "who the hell likes these bulky clunky unky tunkle tuners and who is running the operations of these companies and how do I infiltrate their organization and begin to correct all the ugly crap that has gone undealt with for 20-25 maybe 30 years? I mean cutting corners is one thing but side stepping style and function is a crime and a slap in the faces of the people that buy these guitars. I can't believe this is the world we live in.."but alas I have replaced the problematic tuners thus I don't have such tyrannical and ludicrous elaborate fantasies play out in my head for the better part of an afternoon while I'm just changing strings. this is my review of these oval button closed back tuners. buy them or don't and if you don't you must be the evil mothe... nevermind. I'm at peace my tuna is tuned

Poor quality control
2 of the tuners came scratched/scuffed out of the package (the gray enamel on the back was scratched).Even worse, one of the tuners didn't even have a string hole all the way through, on one side of it was just solid metal with an indentation where the hole was supposed to be. I already had it mounted in the headstock before I noticed, so I just took a drill with a 1/16" bit and drilled it through and I was off and running. Something like that should have never made it out of the factory though. As far as functionality, they're okay. They have slop in them when you change direction but you get what you pay for I guess.

5/6 Correct
In the sealed package we received five of the correct tuners and one tuner was incorrect as shown in the picture. Looks like I'll be looking for a replacement for the replacement.Update - 2 Days LaterThe customer service for Musiclily was amazing. I emailed the company. They were prompt with a reply email, then with the order number through Amazon, they refunded my order in full. I will be reordering these tuners as the tuners themselves were actually better quality than I anticipated.Five stars for the quality based on the price and the customer service.
