Obvious reproduction of the poorest quality. Do not buy from the seller.
I actually cried when I looked through this "book". The pages a not centered and the copies or scans used to try a replicate the original book are of the absolute poorest quality. If you are researching finding an authentic version of this book, do not buy from here.

The best digger book since Colossal Earthmovers.
We bought this for our son who _LOVES_ to read about and play with digging equipment. He started reading all the (deadly boring to those uninterested) details immediately and it held its own against his other birthday presents including LEGO. He would wax poetic, or at least enthusiastic, about the book, but I don't really want to listen anymore =)

An Essential Equipment Read
Keith Haddock does his research so completely, so very professionally. His delivery of facts and history puts him at the top of his craft. This book was such a pleasure to read, and read again.Jack Worthington

Four Stars
It is interesting but applies mainly for the USA.

If you don't care at all about pictures
A book like this is at least as much about the pictures as it is about the text. This book has all black and white photos. Sure, it covers stuff as far back as steamshovels, pictures of which are obviously in black and white, but why do the photographs from the 80's 90's and 2000's also have to be in black and white? Not only are the pictures black and white but they are also very grainy and faded. The whole thing is printed on really poor quality paper. It sucks!I know, I could have seen that in the "Look inside" preview feature. I guess I did and just assumed that some were black and white and the preview doesn't show all. Also, looking at the preview now I can see that those images are much sharper and higher quality than the ones in my book.I have previously bought "Extreme mining machines" by Keith Haddock and it is brilliant, high quality paper and bright color pictures. I think it's the same publisher MBI or Motorbooks.Ironically it says inside that Keith considers this book his greatest writing achievement. Well, there is nothing wrong with the text I guess but still. Why Keith, why???
