Product Description Kamp-Rite’s Double Tent Cot is the two-person version in the line of Tent Cot products. The sturdy aluminum frame keeps you 11” above the ground to provide comfort and protection from insects, rocks and dampness. The fully enclosed Double Tent Cot creates a private sleep shelter and brings a level of convenience to outdoor outings not typically found with old style camping gear. The quick, easy set up can be done alone without the help of an extra pair of hands, making it the ideal solution to get out and enjoy the Great Outdoors more often and more comfortably. The Double Tent Cot's unique hinge design creates great versatility and function—it can be easily converted into a lounge chair or a standard style cot for use in larger, family-style tents. .com If you've done a fair amount of camping, you know that sleeping on a cot inside a roomy tent is far more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Now you can combine both luxuries with the double-size Kamp-Rite tent cot, a fully framed and enclosed cot with nylon sides and tie-up no-see-um mesh doors and windows--just like a personal tent. The legs of the cot are suspended a full 11 inches off the ground, keeping you away from moisture, snakes, and rodents, so you needn't worry about waking up with a mouse inside your sleeping bag. More significantly, the cot is roomy and comfortable, with plenty of space for two people to stretch out and sleep in style. (The double version is longer than a queen bed and almost as wide, with plenty of headroom thanks to the tent's dome styling.) Simply situate the tent cot on any piece of level ground, toss in your favorite sleeping bag or blanket, and you're ready for a great night of sleep. The tent cot's frame is made of lightweight yet durable aluminum, with anti-vibration aluminum nuts and bolts that won't loosen over time or rust. The "tent" portion of the product features durable 420-denier nylon fabric with no-see-um doors and windows that open on all four sides. When the outer nylon doors are zipped open and the interior no-see-um mesh doors are zipped closed, the tent cot is 100-percent insect-proof yet still encourages 360-degree airflow--a must for warmer climates. The durable one-piece Cordura nylon-fabric sleeping surface, meanwhile, is firm and level, helping you sleep soundly throughout the night. And should you encounter severe stormy weather, simply set up the "total encapsulation" rain fly. Easy to set up and transport thanks to the heavy-duty carrying bag, the double-size tent cot measures 84 by 40 by 53 inches (W x H x D) when set up and 53 by 7 by 31 inches when folded. The cot also comes in alternate original and oversized one-person sizes and is backed by a one-year warranty against defects.

A good concept that fails on quality control
I read all of the positive reviews on the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot and decided to make my purchase. I wanted to hold off on a review until I had the opportunity to use it. I took it camping for the first time this week and was disappointed in the bad quality control and poor materials used in its manufacture. The only thing I can figure is that I was sold a second (a tent that failed quality control). The no-seeum mesh was not folded and sewn correctly on one side entry. When sewing in the zipper in one side-entry, they sewed right across the nylon zipper part itself for five inches, making it impossible to open the zipper on that side of the tent. The the clip of the leg strap was sewn incorrectly and in the wrong direction. As soon as I put strain on it, the sewing ripped out of the strap, rendering it useless (the other three straps were sewn in the correct direction). On initial setup, the thread in the upper corner seams started to pull out. At the apex of the tent are two small ties, supposedly for hanging a light, except when I hung a light, the seam they were sewn into started to tear out.So, what's the problem with the seams and sewing? Simple answer... They used cheap, thin, cotton thread in all of the seams instead of a decent quality nylon bonded tent thread typically used in nylon fabric tent manufacturing (the Kamp-Rite does use denier nylon fabric). Maybe they were out of the good stuff the day they made my tent. Irrespective, the tent I received fails quality control and quality manufacturing on many points.Aside from the above, I really think this concept can be great if Kamp-Rite would give more attention to using quality materials and attention to detail.

This is definitely the way to go camping!
I tried this out in my back yard last night and I have no complaints. It's definitely the easiest tent I've ever set up. I was able to do it by myself in about ten minutes without reading directions. Next time should take five because I know what I'm doing. I'm 5'11" & 150lbs and I had room to stretch out. You need some kind of mattress or pad because there's a metal bar running length-wise down the center. I got the recommended 4" self-inflating mattress which made it better but I'm going to try out an air mattress next time bc the bar was still noticeable. Making the bed was easy with the openings on 4 sides with convenient double zipper screens (you can also close the openings w/double zipper flaps). There are loop & tab fasteners to keep the flaps and/or screens rolled up & out of the way.In general, it was the most comfortable tent sleeping experience I've had. You are off the ground so no chance of it flooding if it rains. Unfortunately, it didn't rain so I didn't get to test the water resistance but it seems like the included rain fly would be adequate, it has elastic to fit around the frame plus buckles to hold it in place. With the mattress in it, there was a few inches at the very end of the tent where I could stash my shoes. You can't fit a lot of gear in it. Height-wise it was comfortable to lounge in with my laptop and watch a movie. I wouldn't plan on hanging out inside it all day. It's more just a place to sleep. I could sit cross-legged in it and I'm tall. Taking down was equally easy. You just fold it up, fasten the straps and buckles then slide the carry bag over it, flip it over and zip it up. It is kind of heavy for me. Carrying it was a bit of a struggle but I managed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone for the sheer ease of setup and not having to worry about stepping in water if it rains. It can fit two regular sized adults comfortably or one adult and two small children or an adult and a large dog. Keep an eye on the price because it fluctuates by about $50. I waited and got a good deal.

Not a good product.
I ordered this tent due to what seemed like good reviews. Yes it is simple to set it up, but that's it. I know there was questions about being able to have sex in the thing but unless your a twig and your partner is twig there is no way you will be able to do comfortably. There is a big bar going down the center of the tent, and on either side you sink way down until there is someone else laying on the other side. Once that happens though, the canvas pushes up into your back. Also, the Zippers are junk. The first night we struggled with them being able to zip closed. Adjusted the Velcro holding the tent onto the cot and it helped, but the seams were trying to tear away from the zipper. Seconded night, we spent a good 10 minutes trying to get one side closed- finely did and decided to not open that side again or it would have torn. The other side, we spent about 5 minutes trying to get it to zip up. The rain fly wouldn't zip past a certain point, so we finally gave up on that one then had to work at the other two zippers, and after several times of the zipper busting open, (door and screen door) we could finally get them to close. The size of the tent is nice in theory, but it is so compact that your sleeping bags get soaked from touching the sides of the tent, the cot underneath you gets wet from I guess the wet air flowing through the underside of the tent, and condensation or something collects and doesn't vent out even though we had the windows open a bit to prevent that so it drips on your head all night. I would not recommend this product at all. I would get a regular tent or a bigger pop up tent with cots in it.
