Durable!
These are great! My cat destroys the tiny puff balls and makes them crusty but these stand up so well. I also like that they're big enough that I don't worry about him eating them. He plays with them all day! It's been 5 months and there's still one that is new and two that are about halfway gone.If your cat likes to drop these in their water bowl they absorb alot of water and kinda feel like those pool balls that get really heavy with water lolol. Not a likely situation but if they ever get dropped in boiling water, like tea for example, they bleed color and melt. Definitely not what they're intended for to say the least, so guard your hot beverages.

Cats love them
CONS- A little pricier than similar products- Wish they had a larger size (I had a softball sized pompom once, and it was SO funny seeing the cat pick it up in his mouth)PROS+ Cats LOVE them+ Super durable; they've played fetch for a couple hours over the last two days, and not a strand of tinsel fell out yet (normally my stairs would be covered in tinsel after playing fetch) UPDATE: started shedding tinsel moderately after a week, but balls still feel fine overall+ The tinsel is REALLY dense, almost as dense as the regular pompom fluff+ I didn't expect this, but the cats like the color variety & number of pompoms too; they get really excited when I dump the entire pack on the floor+ 2" pompoms are still big enough that it's hilarious seeing the cat run around with it in his mouth+ Large size means my cat doesn't try to swallow them whole (I had to stop getting craft pompoms)+ Absolutely my cats' favorite toys+ Big enough not to go under the stove/fridge or laundry room door

REVISED REVIEW: Delightful AND Durable
I've changed my mind about these sparkle balls. THEY'RE GREAT! My cat enjoyed them so much that I reordered them (and am about to reorder them AGAIN). The second batch was much more durable than the first and DID NOT shed excessively. My cat tears into them, chews them up, chases and fetches them ALL DAY, and while they show wear-and-tear, they don't shed their tinsel. My first batch may have been defective. The second batch certainly puts up with a lot of abuse and love from my cat (who seems to prefer the dark-colored ones)OLD REVIEW:I want to love these sparkle balls as much as my cat does. These balls instantly became my cat's favorite toy (and she has lots of toys to choose from). The size it perfect. She would carry one around the house, play fetch with it for hours, etc. The problem is that within a day or so the balls started shedding tinsel like crazy. Soon the living room looked like Christmas morning, with all the loose tinsel strewn around. The cat had no interest in eating the tinsel, which is a good thing, and continued to play with the fuzzy remains of the ball. Still, I don't think these are entirely safe for hyperactive cats like mine, and unless you love to vacuum often, these sparkle balls won't be a friend of yours.

Cats LOVE these!
I wasn't sure about the size, the first ones I bought (another seller/brand) were VERY small. I could tell these were bigger. Wasn't expecting as big as they are. My cats love them. And even though these are bigger than their others ones they lost, these still get "lost" under things lolIf your furbabies are anything like mine, they will love these!Glad I got two packs! Got these for one cat, and another absolutely loves these too, and I have caught a few others playing with these too. LolThey also seem to be holding up pretty well, compared to other brands.Definitely worth getting. And will probably get more.

High Energy Cat Satisfied
What has me so excited is that these dense sparkle strands, stiffened by the dense core, send this ball gliding across carpet, and on hard floors it's like an air hocky puck. I'm sure Fritz will pull this apart eventually, but it's going to be better than the three day - max - lifespan of other sparkly balls. Follow up - After a week and a half this ball has exceeded my expectations. Fritz has NOT shredded it. The ball's yarn core has been roughed up enough that it's expanded and the ball doesn't roll well anymore, so I've put out a new one, but it's still a ball, not bits of fluff scattered about. I have found on the floor small tufts of ball that Fritz had torn out, about one a day for a few days, but he's hard on his toys!He has never eaten and thrown up parts of this ball, which has happened with the other brands. This makes he and I very happy indeed. My cat is very high energy. He should live in a barn and be able to hunt rats all day. If I didn't have a son who loves to rough and tumble with Fritz, I'd be lost.Last night, I gave Fritz one of these balls. He tore across the bedroom. He collided with furniture. He shot across floors taking area rugs with him.He thought this thing was ALIVE.There is a photo of Fritz sleeping happily after saving the world from the sparkling menace. That sweet little fuzzer-thing is the prowling fireball?Yes. Yes, it is. Don't be fooled.

Much more durable than other brands
My cats love those little sparkle pom poms, but the tinsel comes out so easily and before I know it, my house is covered with it. These are much hardier -- so far no tinsel has come out at all! However, they are MUCH bigger than the ones my cats had before, which I think is a deterrent for my kitties. They don't love them as much as the little ones. If the company could make these smaller, I think they'd be perfect!
