Q: What color solid complimentary tile do you recommend using for a border?

I used a royal blue as a border and grout was a grey color. Made all colors pop!!

Q: How thick are the tiles?

I wish I could be more specific as to how thick the tiles are...if you were to go to a tile store or a Home Depot, you could the exact measurements of the tile. The tile is 4 X 4 but how thick it is...it is much less than 1/4 inch.

Q: For a backsplash do i use glue to apply, and then grout? or mortar/grout. sanded/unsanded? never have done tiling before. need advice.

Use mortar as it spreads thin and covers entire backs of tile....Unsanded grout for grout lines less than 1/8 inch as in backsplash....use sanded for larger grout lines as in floor tiles
