Lightweight nice vestibules
This replaces the almost exact same Kelty tent that is over 25 years old and finally bit the dust. I love this tent. This model is even lighter than my old one. The one thing I do not like is the wierd cross bar. I had to look it up on Youtube to figure out where it went. I love the dual vestibules.

Wonderful Tent
The Dirt Motel 4 tent is a wonderful tent that has a nice amount of space I fit a queen sized mattress in it but then there was no real space to put any extra stuff in the tent, so a full size worked out better . It is shaped a bit differently because of its star gazing dome, so make sure when you set it up you put the head in the correct direction. The rain fly creates vestibules where you can keep your extra stuff and it does a great job at keeping the water out. It is a bit confusing to put up the first time but after one time the tent goes up super easy. The bottom is very thin so it is important to have the footprint. If weight is not an issue I think using a tarp as a footprint is a better idea because the footprint Kelty has for this tent is super thin and light. The star gazing part of this tent is what made me buy it and I was not disappointed and a door on both sides of the tent is great when you have to get up in the night to pee and don't want to crawl over anyone. In all this is one of the best tents I have ever owned.

Great tent!
This is a great tent! Plenty of room for my husband and I and our (toddler) son along with a little bit of gear or bags. It was pretty easy to set up, will be much easier next time since we’ve done it once now! The rain cover worked AMAZING! I accidentally left it out in a pretty heavy down pour and not a drop of water was inside the tent. I was very impressed! The only issue I had was that the tent stakes came visibly dirty, the tent looked like it had been cleaned out, nothing was broken or not working but the tent had obviously been previously owned and put up at least once. The seller was very responsive to my message about all of this and refunded some of my money which made the price much better for a used tent.Definitely would recommend!

Fits three healthy adults comfortably shoulder to shoulder; four alternating head/foot positions
The tent fly is asymmetrical and requires paying attention to the orientation. Note that the printed surface of the fly is the inside surface of the fly. Second setup took 8 minutes.System is well built and pole ends are color coded to ensure correct placement. It was worthwhile for me to get the lightweight footprint and it roles nicely to fit with the tent sack.

Finally got to use it, love it!
Hey let’s face it, there really isn’t room for 2 in this unless you are pretty intimate. I am using this as a motorcycle camping tent, the pack size is very small and it really wasn’t hard to get it repacked the next morning. I got my cot and riding boots and a few bags off the bike in there with me so it is a perfect 1 person tent for what I wanted. Seems like great construction and it wasn’t hard to put up after you figure it out. I need to practice doing it by myself since on my first trip I had a few friends helping me. Lol.

Preforms as advertised, Fantastic
Had it in Moab this past week, didn't set the fly up, did well in the wind, "star gazing" feature is nice for ventilation, and seeing out side, but if you are a star gazer you wont be doing it in the tent. Much lighter material than what I'm used to, if it holds up in the Tetons next week it will be a great buy.Back From the Tetons and Yellowstone, passing T-storms every day so we had the fly on at all times. Had to set up in the rain so of course got wet, but dried it off and stayed totally dry the whole time. Didn't get into the backcountry this trip, but I feel this tent will perform well anywhere. Very Happy with it.

Easy setup, spacious, nice features
Super simple color coded setup. Shark mouth bag fits everything with zero effort. Bathtub floor, stargazing fly, one piece poles, lightweight, spacious, 2 large vestibule, I love it. This is the first tent I've spent more than $100 on, and the quality is apparent. Much better than the typical tents I've bought from Walmart and the like. Well worth the money. It's not the most lightweight, like some ultralight tents, but it's light enough, and plenty spacious for a Tallman like myself.

Water in the tent after less than 2 years
The triangle at the top of this tent collects water, snow, leaves, etc. You can drain the inevitable puddles by gently pulling on the loop attached to the hub. However, most importantly, the rainfly just saturates entirely, stretching out over the tent. This makes the roof puddles worse, and means the rainfly touches the mesh tent walls, allowing water to come through and drip down the walls. Very slowly, but still a problem. I only had it for 1 1/2 years before this started, and the Kelty warranty people just sent me a link to re-waterproof it myself.I think I’ll pass, and buy a new tent instead. After two Kelty waterproofing failures, I can tell you which brand it WON’T be.
