Exceeded Expectations.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the fit, finish, and overall quality of this very reasonably priced piece of cutlery. The blade is highly polished stainless steel, and whilst it is not particularly thick, it is thick enough. The brass guard and butt cap are highly polished, and the horn and stacked leather grip is very nicely finished and well fitted - there's no slop or rattle and it fits the hand well. The blade was sharp, sharp, SHARP right out of the box, and with a minor amount of touch up with a leather strop, became arm hair shaving sharp - no kidding. The sheath ain't nothing to write home about - the leather is thin and only single stitched, but it is serviceable.Amazon has a much better sheath available, the "16.5" long custom handmade leather sheath for 10"—10.5" blade boeie knife", (and yes, 'Bowie' is misspelled but that's how it is on the page). The sheath is almost as expensive as the knife itself, but it's well worth it. Take a look, see what you think.I doubt if I'll be taking this knife to the field as I have other knives that have been attached to my web gear once upon a time in the way back when that have rendered yeoman service. Frankly this Crocodile Dundee knife won't do anything that the others won't do, and it is too pretty to get all beat up in field use. However, if you're looking for something to dissuade a switchblade armed would-be mugger then this might be just what you're looking for.Recommend.

"That's a knife!"
I bought this knife from my husband, and this is his review:Nothing sets an example of true ingenuity better than a hand forged, hand crafted Bowie knife and a hand crafted leather sheath. The original Bowie knife is a pattern of fixed-blade fighting knife claimed to have been created here in America by Rezin Pleasant Bowie in the early 19th century for his brother Jim (James), Bowie, who had become famous for his use of a very large knife at a duel known as the Sandbar Fight. Although the description of a Bowie knife has never been defined, these days almost any large knife that is 6 inches long or longer that has a handguard and a clip point blade with a false edge (sharp edge), or a swedge (dull edge), is referred to as a "Bowie knife" and this knife is no different. It's large, crafted tough and ready to take on those jobs that require a little bit more persuasion than any smaller knife could offer.Crocodile Dundee is a 1986 action comedy film set in the Australian Outback and in New York City. It stars Paul Hogan as the weathered and tough bushman, Mick "Crocodile" Dundee who is well known throughout the movie for carrying a huge knife and with his wryly smile and that excellent Australian twang, coins the famous, but often incorrectly quoted phrase "That's not a knife. That's a knife!" in response to a mugger that pulled out a 9" Italian style stiletto switchblade. The impressive Crocodile Dundee knife was specially created by the films armourer, John Bowring and was extremely popularized by the movie. The knife is characterized by its large size, mirror polished, fullered blade, distinctive handle design of stacked leather between buffalo horn and a highly polished hooked brass handguard and outward tapering brass pommel. Today, this style of knife is still very popular with outdoorsmen, outdoorswomen and collectors.Don't let the price of this knife fool you! If you're looking for an affordable Crocodile Dundee style knife and leather sheath that's comfortable in the hand with a good grip, practical, durable, and aesthetically pleasing, have a go at this one! I suggest that when you get it, unwrap it carefully, slide the knife into the sheath, snap it closed, rub it down with some good leather conditioner or mink oil and let it set for a day so the sheath can conform and relax around the knife properly.

Bent
The very tip of the blade is bent. The blade also showed up with the sheath, but it was not in the sheath. The knife and sheath were wrapped and taped together, then put in the box. The bend is very small, I can probably (hopefully) fix it myself, but they still should've put the knife in the sheath. Overall very nice, but blade should be shipped in the sheath.
