For such a small little SSD it is very hast and it fits like a glove in my Alienware M18. And yes you still need to format the drive before you can use it through Disk Management.

So far its working wonderfully on a Surface Pro 8.

This drive worked great for my Surface Pro 8, unlike another brand that I had to return. Be careful, some SSD’s out there draw too much power for a Surface Pro 8. Drawing too much power results in random crashes. This one works great. I use this SSD to clone and expand a smaller 256 GB SSD. I used disk cloning software to clone and upgrade a smaller hard drive. I used Acronis. You will also need an external enclosure for this SSD for the cloning process. I put this SSD in the external enclosure and started Acronis. After about 20 minutes, my old 256 GB hard drive had been cloned onto this new 1TB hard drive. Using a paper clip and a number four torx, which I picked up at my local big box hardware store, it was easy to pop open the back cover and unscrew the tiny screw, holding in the old SSD. My old SSD was in a small case. Gently I removed it from the carrying case. I use a small amount of heat sink paste on the new SSD and put it into the carrying case. It was easy to then put the new SSD back into my Surface Pro 8, replace the screw and close the back SSD cover. With external power now attached, my Surface Pro 8 immediately booted up and has been running great for the last several weeks. I was pleased with the SSD quality, value for the money, and easy installation.

Works great as a replacement HD in a Microsoft Surface Pro 9. Increased my storage from 256gb to 1tb.

This 1TB Higher capacity drive replaced my surface pro 8 250 gig drive with no issues. (Just make a recovery USB and reinstall the Surface software downloaded from microsoft). now I can use my laptop much more easily, installing programs and not worrying about filling up the drive or removing games to make space for new ones. It has given my aging laptop new life.

It works, but it is NOT a Samsung product! Windows 11 SysInfo and Devices identified it as "Standard disk drives." SIW showed the manufacturer as "NVMe." Samsung Magician does not recognize it. My other AUTHENTIC Samsung drive in the system is properly recognized by all of the above utilities. It should NOT be labeled or sold as Samsung if it isn't!ADDED INFO: This product did not come in Samsung packaging. It came in a small, clear, unmarked zip-style bag inside a small foam pouch, also with no markings. This is deceptive labeling and marketing.WARNING: This product runs extremely HOT when moving large amounts of data onto / off of it. It is mounted inside a [prominent manufacturer's] laptop with the proper OEM heatsink and thermal pad. It ran SO hot (almost 80° C) that I worried it wouldn't survive. I am replacing it with a name-brand manufacturer's device and returning this one for a refund.

Easy upgrade of my laptop storage to 1TB from 256gb. No noticable reduction of speed. 650gb to go, and the speeds did not drop significantly. Works well and easy install for device.

I got a bit concerned at first when this wasn't detected by Samsung Magician, but if you check their website, it does say it's for consumer models (not OEM) and they have a list of specific models it works with, so presumably there are some consumer models not supported as well.But this works perfectly for a Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1.
