M-D Building Products 33340 19-Inch by 36-Inch Door Grille

This grille worked perfectly to keep our dog from ruining our newly replaced patio screen door. Although this is not designed for a sliding patio screen door it still worked. I was able to screw the tabs onto the frame of the screen. Although there are 1 1/2" gaps of uncovered screen on either side of the grille, our dog does not try to scratch in those 2 narrow places. The measurements of the grille without the tabs is: 28 1/8" wide x 20" tall; Total width including the tabs is 34 1/2"; Each tab is 3" with 2 predrilled holes- one at 2 1/4" & one at 2 3/4". My screen door is 35" wide including a 1 3/4" frame. The screen itself is 31 1/4" wide.The frame on my sliding screen door has a raised section that the contoured tabs of the grille fit over perfectly. That is where I screwed it to the frame. We use the grills for our window to protect the screens from our cats. We cut all the brackets off and only use the mesh part. Very important to get precise measurements of the mesh only before purchase. Works wonders! We’re happy and the cats are too!

To protect my screen on my sliding glass doors. very nice. needed it to be a little wider. but all in all I am happy with it, Thank-you

Could not find at Lowes or Home Depot. What they had was small and the quality was pretty flimsy. This one I bought is very sturdy and fits perfectly

The product is advertised for 36 inch wide screen doors. This is a protector shield so that animals, dogs or cats cannot rip the screen with their claws. The product as installed only covers a maximum 30 inches wide leaving 3 inches on each side of the screen ample room for the animals to scratch at the screen and make a hole.

It arrived on time but the plastic bag taped to the screen which I believe was supposed to contain the screws was empty. There was one screw in the bottom of the box. We had to go and buy screws. The screen fit our 36 inch door just fine. It is thin and hope it holds up if one pushes against the door. It is not very smooth and when I go out the door and use my elbow to hold it open it feels like a cheese grater. It will work to protect our screen door.

I bought this to keep my dog from putting her paws on the screen. This grille is perfect for this application, and fits a 36" storm door very well. Installation took five minutes (pilot holes should be drilled before installing the screws that come with the grille). Our dog (~14lbs) gets very excited when she sees a squirrel or chipmunk on our patio. So much so that she runs to the screen and tries to pounce on it. We ended up keeping the door closed so often because we were afraid she'd run through. We've been using this all summer and it's great! It keeps her in, we can see through and get our breeze still and it looks good on the outside. It actually has steered here from bouncing because of the noise :)
