Amazing boot stretcher
Love how it goes down into boots and has spacers to help with specific trouble spots. Great product and very sturdy

Does what is says it does!
This foot fitter, used for stretching boots, works well and actually does what it says it will. I have a pair of lovely leather boots that just rub the sides of my feet when I wear them. I couldn't take them back, having worn them already, but they hurt too much to wear for more than an hour or so. It finally dawned on me to try a boot stretcher. I looked at all the options and this one was a) really nicely made (made in Germany and foot part made of wood) and b) came with metal button/plug things that you pop into the wooden foot (holes pre-drilled) that help stretch out specific sections of your boot. I have a very "sexy" bunion, lol, and using that helped to stretch the boot everywhere but also make a sort of pocket area where the boot won't rub on my icky bunion and cause pain. The boot stretcher works nicely and you can obviously use it in either shoe. For convenience, it might be nice to get 2 of these so you can stretch both boots at once. I am confident it isn't going to break easily, either, like a plastic or cheaper one would. Great purchase!

Used for Western Boots
First let me report that the quality of Footfitter Stretchers are excellent. Made in Germany of Beech (hardwood) and Stainless steel. I have western boots one of which consistently hurt my foot. I already have a cheap version of western boot stretcher which I've had for years. They are made of softwood and have to be held together with duct tape because the wood is too soft for the screw which holds the 2 pieces together (hinge in essence) to hold. I bought a Justin Professional Boot Stretcher and had to return it.I wanted to stretch the width of the toe box only. The Justin stretched the instep before it even started putting pressure on the toe box. On Western boots 2 things make for proper fit. The instep and the throat size. If these are correct the last thing you want to do is stretch them out. The whole boot will be too loose if you do.I wanted a Footfitter Western Boot stretcher but they were out of stock for a couple months in my size. Eventually I looked at this stretcher. It is designed for Women's high heeled boots 1" to 3" so it is not going to work for everyone. I just slipped in on the size. I have 10 - 10 1/2 Western boot, which is the limit for women's size 10-12. I also have thin feet, not narrow feet, D width but really just skin, bones, and muscle. This stretcher fits well into the Snip Toe and stretches the whole toe box evenly. I wanted to enlarge the entire width of the forefoot area so there is no pressure on my big toe joint, big toe, and little toes. The forefoot just needed to be wider. It comes with 3 attachments which can be used to push out tight spots like bunions etc. I don't have these problems but I tried them attachments any way. They line up where they should so I believe they would work as they should. This stretcher is fantastic. It never contacts the instep. It only stretches the toe box/forefoot. It worked exactly like I hoped the Justin Western Boot stretcher would have worked. The Western Boot Stretcher is back in stock now in size large so I may get one just to see how well it works. My feet measured with a Brannock Device (foot measuring device which many shoe stores use or used to use to size your shoes) are 12 D/ 11 1/2D so in Western boots, depending on manufacturer, is a 10 1/2 D - 10 D (Rt/Lft).I hope this helps.

May have ruined my $250 boots
I just bought this. I put the plugs in, stuck it in my boot, and wound it open until it was tight, as per the directions. All seemed fine. Let my boot sit for a day, then went to take it out, and the thing WON'T CLOSE. I twist it and it does nothing, and it's in too tight that I can't just pull it out of my boot- so it is STUCK in my boot! Brand new $250 boots! They may just be ruined! And I couldn't even find anywhere on here to just contact the seller about this, so I'm posting here.

It's worth the money
After three different cheap boot stretchers, I finally sucked it up and paid the money for this one. This is a case where you get what you pay for, and cheap boot stretchers are just not strong or well constructed enough to do the job right. This one works, which says a lot. The wood is smooth, so no scratching of your expensive boots. The mechanism is strong so you can really crank it to get that stretch. Easy to handle and I think it will last for years. Just be careful when you spray the leather stretcher -- it can get stuck so can make it tough to extract once your boots are stretched.

Broke after first use, but did the job
This did work to stretch my boots, but when I attempted to remove it from the second boot, it got stuck and would not turn. I tried going in the opposite direction, then back to closing the stretcher, and it eventually ended up completely stuck. In attempting to budge it one way or the other, the handle broke at the joint, leaving me with an open stretcher stuck in my boot.Thankfully, my boot has a zipper down the back, which allowed me easy access to the screws that hold it together. I was able to remove the screws, causing the stretcher to come apart in my boot so I could remove it.The metal piece that moves up and down the bolt inside had jumped is threads on one side and was completely immovable. Thank goodness for the screws! The stretcher needs better metal hardware, I think, to be a high quality product. Very disappointed at the performance and durability, but I do like the design and it was effective before it broke.

Wish it came with two because jeez these are pricey, but worked like a charm.
I wish the wood part was a little narrower as I noticed that it also stretches out the mid-foot area when I was trying to focus on just stretching the toe-box. That could be because I have smallish feet (size 6.5-7 women), so maybe for larger shoes this wouldn't be a problem. Still did a good job stretching out the toe-box! I've used it in all my boots! I didn't use any leather conditioner or anything. I just put this into my shoes and left them overnight. I used this in my boots as well as my booties and regular flats. Seemed to work just fine.
