Mikasa Italian Countryside Square Dessert Tray, 11-Inch

This is a gorgeous platter! The detail is lovely and the "just shy of bright white" is perfect for food presentation. I bought two of these and just recently used them at an event I put on to rave reviews!

Beautiful

I purchased this tray to match our existing Italian Countryside dinnerware, which has held up very well. Although the color of the tray and the design are a nice match, the construction is poor. There is an unglazed rim on the bottom that allows water to seep in, even though the tray was hand washed, and not soaked. After it was towel dried, it remained dark in the areas where it was still wet beneath the glaze. I left it to dry on the countertop overnight, and found a puddle beneath it the next morning. I cannot imagine what it would look like over time if it were exposed to greasy liquids, or even coffee. I promptly returned it to Amazon. I noticed that my dinnerware was manufactured in Malaysia, and this tray was made in China, which may explain the decline in quality.

A bit brittle

Slightly darker than my other Italian Countryside dishes. There is also additional scroll on this plate that is not on my other dishes so it just "kind of" matches in my opinion. Will keep because it is a good product for the price.
