Good tone, good volume, too sensitive to air pressure changes
I've had these reeds for 1 week now. So far I'm not sure if I like them or not. They have good volume, but are very temperamental to air pressure changes. Even a slight change in the amount you're blowing can cause the note you're playing to sharpen drastically, especially on the upper hand. The high A goes up several notes worth, becoming comically high. I've added floss to the bottom to compensate for the sharpness of the tone, and it did help quite a bit, but it's still not great. I have 3 different chanters I have these set up in, 2 regular length poly and 2 long poly chanters. As long as you can blow light and extremely steady, you'll be happy with these reeds. If you're used to a reed that's more forgiving about pressure changes, or if you're learning to play, I recommend not picking these up. I've been playing bagpipes for over 20 years and have never experienced reeds as sensitive to pressure changes than these.
