OMG THIS WORKS !!!!!!
I have area rugs that I have cleaned with liquid cleaners and for all the back breaking work and drying time I would rather toss the rugs than shampoo them ever again. I decided to look on Amazon to see what dry cleaning options there were available . Not really trusting the whole dry cleaning idea. I was trying to keep an open mind. I saw the Host dry cleaning product and after reading the product details and all of the reviews I decided to try it. I don’t have the Host machine so I used a carpet brush that I had. I will be the first to say I am amazed and so sorry I never tried this dry cleaning before. I will never go back to shampooing my carpets again. I have two dogs and a family that refuses to take off their shoes when they come in the house. So my rugs take a beating. HOST has cleaned every inch of my carpets so well people are going to think I bought new ones. One hour latter my carpets are dry and look new. Every stain and those high traffic areas that tell you where everyone has been, all gone. I will never get my carpets wet again!!! Host you have a new customer as long as I have carpets! Thank you

Great product
Love host products for carpet cleaning. Just can't find in stores anymore.

Great for picking up pet hair and dust.
I have used 'Host' for many years. It is superior for picking up pet hair and dust so if you have pets that leave their fur all over the place this will be very helpful. This product does not do well with stains, better stick to a wet product for that. The 'Shaker Pack' label is misleading. One would expect to see an inner lid with holes in it to shake the product onto the floor. Not so. However I did not find that a big deal; it still can easily be sprinkled out and spread with a broom. Beware the larger box of 'Host' from Racine Industries. It is a rip off copy. Racine Industries went out of business over a year ago and what is now sold as their 'Host' is not the real deal and you can't get a refund.

Saved my 8x10 Sisal rug
I’m so grateful for this product. One of my Rottweilers peed on my new sisal rug! I purchased this product and it’s the only thing that’s made a difference! The pee smell is completely gone and the stains are lifting! I'm on my second layer and I can already tell a difference!Tips:- use a heavy amount on the stained parts- work it into the rug brushing in different directions over and over until it’s spread evenly and hits the cracks (the first layer I barely swept it and I felt like the stains got worse and the smell was still there)- let it sit for at least 24 hours- redo it until the stain comes up- (idk if this helped, but turn the fan on the room where the product is*I’ll try to return after my third layer

Moldy and Mildew
Moldy and mildew product. I requested a replacement and was told their is only a 30 day return policy. While that is true, this product would not be used in its entirely in 30 days. It worked great the first time. When I went to use it again, it was moldy and mildew. Unuseable. They refused to replace or refund. Very disappointed. Would not recommend due to poor customer service.

I've been using this product for over 20 years
I have been a fan of this product for over 20 years. The first time we used it on our carpeting was when we were tenants in an apartment in Florida. We had just purchased our own home and wanted to leave the apartment in good shape so we rented a Host machine and purchased the carpet cleaner. Our landlord was so impressed with the results and so were we and the best thing was that it was easy to do and left no moisture in the carpeting which is so important in Florida where the humidity is so high. Years later when we relocated to another state, we were happy to see that a local store rented the host machine and we cleaned all of our carpets prior to moving in. Not only did the carpeting look great, but they also felt nice under our feet and had a nice citrus aroma when we were finished. We have since ripped all of our carpeting out of our home except for the living room. I decided to purchase the Host Shaker Pack and try it on all the dirty/high traffic areas and instead of renting the machine, I followed the instructions and worked the cleaner into the carpet with my hands (I wore rubber gloves)and waited a hour and a half and vacuumed. I am very pleased with the results...our carpeting is probably over 25 years old and it looks great.

Exactly what I was looking for
If your carpet is not clean after using this, you're using it wrong. I've been using granulated dry carpet cleaner for more than 25 years. It used to be readily available in bags at janitorial supply stores. Unfortunately it became hard to find, and of course it is labeled under many different names and brands. I knew this is what I was looking for when I saw the complaints that made it clear they thought there are magic scrubbing goblins in the bottle who will take all your kids' and pets' grub and grime away with one little sprinkle and a Roomba run. You have to use a dry cleaning machine, or elbow grease. I've always used elbow grease. All you do is spritz any bad stains lightly with a pretreater-I use Folex- then sprinkle the granules over the entire carpet, then scrub the granules in with a stiff brush. A natural fiber deck brush is best. Vacuuming it all up is the hardest part. It does not leave a scent.
