clear details
Yes, it is not a high speed bullet slow-mo camera, but for the purpose is fast enough. That being said, at max resolution one can easily adjust the slide under the microscope without loosing image control. And yes, once you understand how software works with the camera, it is a pleasure to get the image on the big screen TV.If somebody else has the same problem like me: use the auto adjust feature on the spot of interest, and disable the auto function once the adjustment is done. Do not use the camera with "auto adjust" ON, it will jump all over the place as soon as the slide position or the magnification changes. Use the rheostat to adjust the light as needed. And yes, the slide must be clean and prepared by somebody who knows how to do it. Cleaning all surfaces with a soft glass cloth helps.

Good camera for the money.
I'm happy with the camera and will probably be getting another to go with my other scope.Takes good (but not great) pictures. The camera doesn't even come close to the clarity of the images through the the scope. The pics are ok for documentation and sharing. (See the attached). I don't think any other camera would be any better.scope.The problem is inherent in micro-photography.The software is a little hard to master. The camera warms up when the application is open. So, don't leave the application open when you're not using it.

Excellent product
Very satisfied with this product. The image quality is quite good: when examining blood parasites in 100x oil immersion objective, it is sufficient to document structures of 0.5 to 1 micrometer (see photo attached). I was quite please that this camera does not require a trinocular microscope - I'm using it in a binocular microscope (removing one of the ocular lens to install the camera) and I didn't need any adapters or accessories. The camera is quite responsive - working at full resolution in preview mode, there is only a lag of about 0.2 seconds from when you move the microscope and the image on the computer screen changes. The software was easy to use (though it did take a bit of work to get it transferred from the CD to a flashdisk - who even has a CD drive these days anymore?), the interface is simple and intuitive. I didn't have any problems with drivers in Mac OSX 10.13.6, once I installed the software it recognized the camera right away and I didn't have to do anything. Good product! But be careful with import taxes & fees, buying this camera overseas might imply that you'll have to pay up to 100% of the announced price in import fees!

Terrible software, poor video quality even at lowest resolution
I actually bought the MU-1803- HS twice through Amazon. First time they couldn't even ship camera for five days and I cancelled order. Figured it was a China to US supply chain problem. I gave company another chance a week later. They sent a UPS "tracking" number that was nonsense, the camera was delivered here 18-4-2023 by Fed Ex. Though Amazon still has listing order info as UPS shipped. Bad enough. UPS tracking still says it has no record of shipment.Camera looks "good". But right out of box, just to install the Amscope software for camera and their app I had to tinker with Windows security which means the 1803- HS model was just probably badly "overclocked" programming, but the thing is OK at lower magnifications, about 40X to 200X works horribly at higher resolution. The FPS on brightly illuminated slides at even 400X magnification sucks. The lag is like some early digital camera from the 1990s or AOL dial up from 1998.If I don't get a FIX with the broken programming or software issues within 24 HOURS I am returning the camera. If I get a proper fix I will change my review appropriately.I contacted customer support/tech support at Amscope and found that wasn't helping.Just refund the money.Amscope needs to up its game with support and customer service. I had to contact them about the refund 6 DAYS after their returns guy, Ray, took receipt of camera from UPS with RMA and Amazon return label, on May 1. So on May 6, I still had no refund and had to message them again. Then another Amscope guy got back to me on Amazon messaging and asks for the UPS shipping tracking number. So I sent them that. C'mon guys. Just refund the money, this is ridiculous.

Excellent way to supplement photography with microscopy
I would have killed for something like this back in my undergrad microbiology degree days. It adapts well to most microscopes and lets you easily photograph what is essentially an unseen world. I have an adapter for my dslr to put on my microscope but its clunky to setup a full camera on a microscope. This makes life much easier and 18MP means your photos are sharp and full of detail. Software is easy to install and allows for some scientific measurements as well if you are using this in a lab.
