For use in a printer
I had such a difficult time finding reviews from people who purchased this paper (or the Kokuyo Campus equivalent) to use in a home printer. I know most folks aren’t running *any* size hole-punched paper through a printer, yet it was still odd that YT and stationery blogs were rather absent of any good feedback. I found a handful of people using A5 20-hole punched paper to print out custom planner spreads; I eventually consulted Amazon, which I guess should have been my first stop, and finally saw it reported Maruman loose leaf does feed through a printer ok. Since my inkjet printer has a B5 tray setting— tho I didn’t know if my printer tray was for ISO B5 or JIS B5 or if that slight difference would even matter— I was so anxious to find out if it this would work. The worst that would happen is I’m ’stuck’ with lovely paper and I’d have to rejigger my plans. It's 80g/21 lb so it’s not much thinner than the standard US Letter sized printer paper I regularly use. Obviously all printers vary but I haven’t had feeding issues— and it even works in duplex. I’m so pleased!! Considering how few retailers sell this, the price point is very reasonable… I’ve already bought a 2nd package because I don’t want to run out. I chose this over the Kokuyo Campus because the Maruman is a couple grams thicker. If you’re after decent fountain pen paper, thicker doesn’t automatically translate to superior performance, in fact I think Tomoe River is like 50-something grams. So can’t vouch for that as I don’t have a fountain pen juiced up at the moment. But if you want a decently weighted paper for home printing, there’s a good chance this will work for you. It’s a nice white but since this isn’t expressly designed to be used in a printer, it’s not that specialty bright white that provides superior contrast. However, I have 0 issues, the readability is perfect, w/ no smudging or blurriness (and I just have an entry level, basic ink jet Canon). Lastly, it’s nice this arrives so quickly— I’ll never stop supporting my favorite mom and pop stationery sties, yet with shipping minimums and slower turnarounds, it’s awfully nice I can find this here too. My project is saved because turns out you can use hole-punched paper in a printer!
