I LOVE this butter dish. It was sturdy, beautiful, and kept my butter fresh and soft (even in a house without air conditioning). I bought mine a couple years ago and this morning it took a bad fall and shattered. They don't carry the same color any more apparently, but I'll be ordering a new one in a different color as soon as I can justify spending the money. Easily one of my favorite kitchen items I've bought myself, and big enough for the big bricks of butter that I buy.

I recently turned forty. I’ve generally been a pretty happy guy, but there’s always been something missing. I could never quite put a finger on it. Then one day I realized what it was. Standing there in my kitchen, with butter on my fingers thanks to my ridiculous skinny glass butter dish with the equally ridiculous glass lid whose edges were perpetually covered in butter. So I reached for my phone and purchased this new butter dish. It holds two full cubes of butter. It has a stylish lid. My fingers remain clean when replacing the lid. It is heavy and sturdy. Perhaps strong enough to become an implement of self defense should the butler attack me in the kitchen with a lead pipe. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase the red one. You know - to hide the butler’s blood.

Haven't really had much of a chance to use our new butter dish yet, but I can already tell that I will love it. First, the design is lovely, clean and modern. Second, it holds a LOT of butter; yes, the two sticks of American-style butter that Sweese says it will hold, but also European-style butter. I would ordinarily have remained happy with my decades-old butter dish that was my grandmother's, but our shiny new refrigerator doesn't have a butter compartment. I don't like leaving butter that's kept in the refrigerator exposed to either air or odors, and this should be the perfect repository for opened butter. And did I mention the clean and modern Scandinavian design? When it's not sitting in the fridge, this will be a lovely addition to our table.

I have a black dish with the beechwood lid (no silicone) that fits very well. It works well for two sticks of butter, as promised. It just so happens I have a roll of butter from a local farm and its diameter is too large for the lid to fit, so I don't know yet what I'm going to do to keep the butter covered until I scrape the butter down enough for the lid to fit. I love this dish, though, and as soon as a deeper model is available I will definitely grab one of those too. I notice a lot of the butter rolls have a diameter similar to the width (height?) of a full 4-stick pound of butter. Hmmmm. Despite this minor size issue, this butter dish is the bomb! I highly recommend it.

I really like the look of this butter dish and can't wait to use it, but it is missing the silicone ring that is supposed to be around the lid. I have had to contact the company to see if they can send me one.

LOVE the color and build. Fits 3 sticks of butter at a time. So much better than a traditional single stick butter dish, that gets messy and gross right away. I bake a lot, and it is soooo nice to have access to soft butter whenever I need it. You don't need to put your butter in the fridge with this dish. It will keep perfectly, which means you'll be able to spread your butter on bread and toast without destroying it. Worth every penny.

Love this butter dish, can put in 2 sticks. the lid seals and stays clean . dish is deep enough that it does not get butter on the rim. Except when someone wipes the knife on the rim. Who does that wipe it on your bread... anyhoo. Love this dish. the color is exactly as described. quality great.

I love our new butter dish, which finally convinced my husband that we didn't need to refrigerate the butter. I used it at first with sticks, and then discovered that the 8 ounce tub of Kerrygold (our favorite) fits too!
