Chief Of Staff

Probably the most comprehensive book on the role of chief of staff
This is perhaps the most Comprehensively written book on COS role. Although it is written for executives who need or hire a cos, there are So many examples and key takeaways for cos. The role hasn't been well defined till date but this book tries to weave all those threads together which could be treated as duties of a cos. Carry a pencil or a highlighter while reading. Lots to highlight and reflect on, even after you are done reading.Disclaimer: I am a cos.

Must read for anyone aspiring to be in CoS role or is playong that role
I stumbled across this book after moving into the new role of Strategic Assistant to the CEO of a $200mn company. Not fully knowing how do I assist the CEO and the Executive team achieve the company vision and execute the strategy, I was putting down my own framework. This book definitely validated my thought process and made it richer. I would recommend this book for every business leader. Thank you Mr Parris

Great for old companies Not for new
This a dated book. The first half was very useful in stimulating thoughts on the role and my interactions with my COS. But the last half was about the role of the COS in large, political organizations. I hope it helped people in such organizations.....but for all of us in young companies there is so much more impact that COS s can have

Thorough and precise at the same time!
Enjoyed the multifaceted view on the CoS role, as well as addressing the case from both the executive and the CoS’s perspective.
