Outstanding boots.
These are outstanding boots. They are lightweight but plenty sturdy; and they look good. These size 12 boots felt a little loose, so I added another insert and they are snug as a bug. No speed-laces, that's too bad, but overall, a good purchase. Keep in mind that there is no replacement of the original Bates USMC boots.

Great boot, size down.
Was a bit confused on sizing. My son wears a size 10 tennis shoe, we ordered a size 9W boot and it was way too big. I was able to easily return with no issues and a refund was issued. We ordered a size 8W and it fits great! My son had a pair just like these that he got from Parris Island while visiting my nephew, (only we couldn't remember what size they were); he loaned those boots out and they were never returned. This pair is exactly like the pair he bought at USMC boot camp while visiting! We are very happy with this purchase and with the customer service we received.

Good boots, but your mileage will vary
These are super stylish and make you feel like a bad ass. I gave mine away to candidates who did not own boots when I dropped from my officer training. I'd never sport the EGA misleadingly. The build quality is super good and durable. These are built to last. I removed one star because the sizing is always a hit or miss. I felt like these fit pretty good after I broke them it but they always felt a little off.. Which brings me to my second removed star: the speed lace system is a tourniquet for your feet/calves. It works great to get the boots on quickly and inched tight to your feet. I felt like I could drag my feet through hell in these boots, and they would still stay on, but they create uneven pressure spots on your feet and can pinch nerves. I had a marine report that they haven't been able to feel three of his toes for the past 5 years after wearing these over many years of training. Good boots, but your mileage will vary.

Solid boots, but not Danner quality
I will start by saying these boots were a pain in the butt to find in the size I needed. I ordered three times from Amazon, and only once did I actually receive boots. The first two times my order was cancelled after over a week, leading to delays for me to prepare for training. These boots run very large. I usually wear a size 11.5-12 shoes, and I had to order a size 10.5 Regular to get a good enough fit. I still would have liked to go a little smaller, probably a 10 Wide would be perfect. I highly recommend buying these or any other work boots of this sort in the store, where you can try them on for size until you know exactly what you need, then come and order online. That all being said, these are great, heavy duty boots. Unfortunately for these boots, I also own a pair of the Danner RAT boots, and the quality is not nearly equal. That is what spending $300 on boots will get you. As for the Belleville 590, they have sturdy leather that so far is breaking in nicely after a few hikes and runs, both with and without a ruck. I did not get any blisters while breaking them in, something I feel can be attributed to the smooth synthetic material that lines the boot around the ankle. It gives your foot the ability to slide rather than rub if the fit isn't perfect, like for me. If you get them soaked through they drain water pretty well from the vents in the side, and dry out probably 75% if left hanging upside down overnight. Insoles are great, and offer a lot of support, but don't seem to fit in the boot itself quite as well as the Danners. When I first got my boots there was excess rubber along the seam where the sole meets the cushioned footbed that I had to trim with a knife. There was no functional issues, only aesthetic, but it still shows a lack of attention to detail as found in the Danners. The speed laces work great, I can get in and out of these boots very quickly, even when wet. I wish the fit around the ankle was a little tighter, but again this may be an issue of not having the correct size. I recommend wearing these boots with merino wool socks, such as those from People Socks. They hold up great, dry easily, and offer a combination of cushioning and sweat-wicking.TL,DR:PROs:-Cheaper and lighter than Danner RATs-Break in nicely-Great, sturdy, heavy duty leather and canvas-Drain and dry out well-Insole support-Speed laces-Zero blisters while breaking inCONs:-Lack a certain amount of attention to detail compared to Danners-Sizing is a big pain because they run so largeOverall I would highly recommend these boots, but I would urge a buyer to try them out in a store before buying online. That is certainly going to be my plan from now on.

Love my Bells
Of all boots Ive worn Bellevilles have always been my favorites. My cold weather Bells are awesome. Usually just wear a regular pair of socks and have no prroblem with the cold. Needed another pait of Bells for hot weather and went with these. These are modern day jungle boots that fit way better than what I was issue in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi
