You do not sharpen, but you turn the top of the pen and the highlighter is lengthened. I really like these highlighters. They work great in the very thin pages of some of my Bibles, and are a very brilliant yellow that really stands out. I recommend these highlighters to anyone who wishes to highlight Bible verses, or anything on thin paper.

Q: Why does the product photo show the end being placed into a pencil sharpener?

The photo is showing the end placed in a clear cap. This product needs no sharpening. I’ve tried several different gel highlighters and this one is the best that I have used

Q: If the books got warm would the wax melt onto other pages ?

These are pretty new to me but I don’t see that happening. It’s very thin, not waxy at all on the page. I love them!
