Perfect for Low Sodium Diets: Baking Powder Substitute
I have to provide a 2 gram low sodium diet in our home and am constantly looking for different low sodium substitutes! I found this 2 lb container of Badia Cream of Tartar. It cost $17.23 ($0.54 / Ounce). A great value!I typically purchase no sodium baking powder. We go through a lot because we substitute baking powder for baking soda by using a 3 parts baking powder for every 1 part baking soda we would have used. However, no sodium baking powder had been unavailable for awhile.I learned that you can substitute 1/4 tsp baking soda with 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar for every 1 tsp of baking powder needed. This still decreases the amount of sodium by a substantial amount.I was able to replace my sodium free baking powder with this low sodium alternative conveniently, easily and affordably. It was just as effective and added to the flavor, being that my substitution required a small amount of Baking soda.It is kosher, clean and of great quality. It arrived timely and was nicely packaged. Thanks for your service. I would definitely purchase this again!Erica Dillon - MMDO

Great to make homemade Play-Doh
This cream of tartar works very well to make homemade Play-Doh. I like to make big batches of it and I like that this is a good price for a large amount.

Make homemade Baking Powder sans aluminum, or Pink Marshmallow Cream!
Excellent Price Value, use this to make my own baking powder without aluminum, and homemade marshmallow creamBaking Powder Combine:1 part baking soda1 part arrowroot powder/cornstarch2 parts cream of tartarI prefer to use organic cornstarch vs arrowroot (purchased "Let's Do Organic" from Amazon)Homemade marshmallow cream:*Note this is NOT stiff enough to hold shape as frosting, but will taste great!Medium batch5 large egg whites (150g liquid whites)1-1/4 c sugar (250g)1/3 tsp cream of tartar~~~~~~~~~Small batch4 egg whites200g sugar*1/4 tsp cream of tartar1 drop red food color (Perfect Shade of Pink!)Place the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar in the stand mixer stainless bowl, and simmer over a pot of water (not boiling), whisking constantly but Gently, until temperature reaches 140°F,ORif you don't have a candy thermometer, whisk until the sugar has Completely Dissolved and the egg whites are Hot.*If the mixture begins to look white-ish Remove asap to be whipped, or the eggs may begin to curdleWith whisk attachment of mixer, begin to whip until the meringue is thick, glossy, and the bottom of the bowl feels neutral to the touch (this can take up to 10 minutes or so).

Best price and quality.
I bought this years ago and it's still good to go. Great shelf life. I use in in my bath bombs and occasionally cook with it and I still haven't ran out yet. Of course a little goes a long way. Will buy again when I start to get low on this one.

Great Value
This is the best value I could find on cream of tartar. I looked at every grocery store in town and they had a lot of bottles that were just a few ounces for $4-$5 a piece. My girlfriend and I are making bath products to give to family members as gifts and this is an integral ingredient in one of her recipes, so being able to get so much at a low price really saved us a ton of money. We would've spent $50 or $60 if we purchased the cream of tartar at the grocery store. Product also works great, so we are very happy with quality as well. Definitely will buy again if we end up making more bath items and would definitely recommend to anyone who is wanting to make their own bath products. 5 stars!

Good Price, Set for Life
Not much to say here. I bought a crap load of Cream of Tartar because the small quantity size was stupid expensive. Made Snickerdoodles, they were delicious, I would say that I'd buy this again if I didn't think this would last me for the rest of my life. 4 stars because the seal was partially damaged. Should be fine though.

Great price and value
Great price and value for the money. Bought this to mix my own unflavored electrolyte drinks. This plus vitamin C powder and real sea salt make a very inexpensive electrolyte drink. Great to have when fasting or doing keto. Recipe is: 1.5 tsp cream of tartar, 1 tsp Vit C, 1/4-1/2 tsp real sea salt. You may want more sodium/salt, but I don’t like to drink salt drinks so I keep it minimal. I’ll take a salt tab when I need more sodium.

Great for snickerdoodle cookies!
I bake alot of snickerdoodle cookies and this works great in them. I have always bought the little canister at the store and was constantly going through it. Now I never worry if I have enough for a double batch of cookies.
