Popper Lures
These are popper lures. They float. As you're retrieving, reeling moderately to slow, and twitch your rod, they make a pop sound and splash on the water surface. While retrieving, twitching rhythmically, you can get them to swing side to side across the surface. This technique is called walking the dog. Some species of fish, especially bass, are attracted to the popping sound, the water surface disturbance, and the erratic movement. I'm not convinced adding rattle balls to a popper lure has any benefit, but such does make the lure heavier than without. These aren't particularly light for their size. As I mostly fish ultra light tackle, light is what I wanted. At 9-10gm per lure, these weigh beyond the limits of many of my rods. While I've had some strikes at my local ponds, I've yet to catch anything with these lures. With a list price of over $10 per lure, I think they are high priced. They are colorful, nicely detailed, and durable, though, and the hooks sharp.

Good Lures
I have not used these yet, and therefore cannot comment on their effectiveness, nor can I comment on these compared to other top-water lures, as I cannot remember ever using a top-water lure, ever. What I can comment on is the price, which is quite reasonable, and the quality, which is top notch. Fish are funny critters, so on some days these may not do well at all, and another day, fishing the same place, they may have the fish waiting in line, so these are definitely worth a try (or two, or three) .For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Five StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

Great quality, wrong colors
These baits feel amazing. I would have given them a better review if I didn't receive the wrong colors.

Works like the expensive ones.
These fishing lures work as good as the whopper ploppers do, as far as popping across the water. The colors are a little strange which may detract from the fish in my area, but at least two out of the three are working fine. We haven't had any hits on the reddish orange one, but that may be because nothing in the lake has those colors - it kind of looks like a flaming hot cheeto. We will keep trying it as the seasons change and see how it works in the spring.

Pretty but very light
I bought these for bass / trout fishing in the freshwater lakes near my farm. The “real” fishing holes are off-limits while they are replenishing the stocked trout, so I tried it out in the small river on the farm that only has fallfish, perch, and pickerel. (Spoiler alert: I didn’t catch anything on this 12 degree day.)PROs:(+) The lures are really pretty and nicely detailed.(+) The top water action actually works (not always the case with cheap lures) and should catch fish under better conditions.CONs:(-) They weighed in a little bit lighter than stated, hence the 4 stars. I could only get a halfway decent cast with my lightest rod/reel combo.Don’t be fooled by the silly pictures in the listing; you’re not going to catch tarpon or strippers or anything big with these. But they look like they’ll be great for pond / lake / lazy stream freshwater fishing for bass, bluegills, etc. And you won’t go crazy when you lose one in a tree, on a log, in the lily pads, etc. (I am not the world’s greatest fisherman.). For the price, they’re quite nice and I recommend them.

Extremely durable and attractive poppers; can’t wait to use them!
PRISTIS 3Pcs. Topwater Popper Fishing LuresI won’t be able to fish with these until this Spring, but I can do my best to describe them to you. These beautiful popper lures are smaller than the ones I’m used to fishing with (for bass), but that’s not a criticism. In fact, I like their size—2 3/4” in length, and 5/8” thick in the thickest part of the belly area (top to bottom); and they weigh roughly .5 ounces each—because I think it makes them attractive to more species of fish. They are said to be good for bass, but also such species as trout, crappie, pike, and walleye. And since these lures are durable enough to be used in salt water, I’m sure the sky’s the limit in terms of the kinds of fish that would be attracted to them—in fresh and salt water.Speaking of durable, these poppers are made of ABS, which stands for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, an impact-resistant thermoplastic that has a higher tensile strength and is more rigid and sturdy than even PVC. It’s ultra tough stuff, perfectly suited for many lures. As I described them at the outset, these poppers can justifiably be called beautiful. From their 3D eyes (which actually move in place) to their textured scales and gills to their vibrant, sun-catching, reflective colors, it’s not a stretch to claim that these lures are likely to be very tempting, if not irresistible, to surrounding fish. In addition, their mouths are shaped to ensure an irresistible popping sound (I know, b/c I tested one of them by tying on a 3-4 ft. piece of monofilament and dropping it in a half-full bathtub! And it worked just fine! lol)Yes, I know there’s probably more than a little hyperbole going on when I use the word “irresistible,” but at least I know this: these lures are truly so colorful, realistic, and eye-catching that they make me want to go to the lake and try them out as soon as the weather warms up! They are top-quality and have a very baitfish-like style and form that at the very least demands a cast or two. Or three. Or four…
