An Easy Remedy for a Lifelong Problem
I bought these inserts because I have Morton's toe, which is a situation where the second toe is longer than the big toe. The condition can cause issues with balance, as well as calluses and foot pain, among others. What these insoles do is lift the big toe slightly, which helps with weight distribution across the foot and helps mitigate the problems. The inserts I received fit perfectly in my running shoes, although they can be trimmed to fit if needed. Make sure you have a good pair of utility scissors for that. Standard shears will not do the job. Once the inserts are in your shoes, put the original insole on top of them. At first glance, these inserts seem to be very rigid. In the shoe, that rigidity is present but not overly noticeable. After putting these inserts in my shoes, I noticed that my second toe no longer banged against the toes of my shoes, and my running form felt better. All of this resulted in an approximate 15-second-per-mile improvement in my running pace almost immediately. My recovery times also seem to be much shorter, and the after-run hamstring soreness is now minimal.Overall, I am very happy with the results.

Hallux Rigidus Stability
Hallux rigidus - big toe / bunion surgical recovery. This simple carbon fiber insole, to be placed under a layer of cushion, stabilizes my toe and helps me walk smoothly with firm support. I needed to transition from my surgical boot and shoe. This thin insole fits into my athletic shoe very nicely. This item is a valuable purchase when you only need one firm insole for your foot. I now realize the difference between walking on a soft cushion vs. the firmness in alleviating pain and discomfort while walking and still healing. I do recommend the product as valuable. Good luck!

Not comfortable
While the insole may work for some, I found them extremely uncomfortable. I could feel the ridge between the big toe extension and the rest of the forefoot that was not in the carbon plate. I did have my standard insole on top of the plate and expected not to feel ot accordingly but that wasn't the case.

This sturdy carbon fiber insole performs greatly!
This insole has given me great support after surgery. It is firm and provides stabilization in the affected area perfectly. Its functionality is exactly as it was described. The insole provides pain relief and is a great value for the money. I highly recommend this product!

Too hard to use
They hold your feet steady, but they don't fit in shoes very well, and so it raises your foot too high in your shoe and pushes you out the top of them, if you have a minimal toe box this will be difficult to use and get in and out if you want to change shoes. These slide around a bit when you put in another insole on top.

Great running boost
These are a great option for turning any running shoes into carbon fibers. They're very lightweight, strong and supportive. Been using them over a month now and they've provided a great boost. Fit is true to size.

In theory, these are a good idea...
However, like another reviewer said, unless your shoes are totally flat under a removable insole, these will not work in that shoe. The only pair I could use them in is my Asics athletic shoes, which I only wear to workout or walk the dog. I can't use them in any of my daily wear fashionable shoes or boots. Also, the foam inserts they give you are worthless because they have no grip on the bottom and just slip around on top of the metal piece. You can't put your foot in the shoe without them crumpling up.The jury is still out on whether these help with second toe pain.
